Climate realist Tony Heller took to X to highlight the climate misinformation and disinformation campaigns waged by far-left corporate media on the global public.

Heller referenced a 2007 BBC News article titled "Arctic summers ice-free 'by 2013'," which warned readers of the supposed threat that "latest modeling studies indicate northern polar waters could be ice-free in summers within just 5-6 years."

The BBC article's baseless claim was designed to instill climate fears across the public to ram through a radical de-growth climate agenda across the Western world.

Because the agenda is more important than the truth and reality. Part of the agenda is to get weak-minded people to believe the agenda with carefully crafted propaganda and to never believe the truth and reality. The real question is: what is the agenda? That answer can be found by following the money, not the propaganda. But too many people will refuse to follow the money and prefer the propaganda.

The September 2024 ice volume is less than 5% of the the ice volume measured in 1979 (black line). The 1979 data is the 100% reference for each month for the subsequent years.
The April data represents the high point of the yearly volume cycle. April 2024 is roughly at 23% of the 1979 reference.
The September data represent the low point of the yearly cycle.

This is the danger of looking at 'average' global temperature. The wind can blow down from the arctic and freeze 1/4 of the earth. Th arctic is a unlimited heat sink.

If you Google "How much ice is there in Antarctica?

24,380,000 gigatonnes of ice

and figure out the percentage:

137 billion tons divided by 24,380,000 gigatonnes

it comes to a 0.0006% decrease in Antarctic ice.

You obviously didn't read the full actual BBC article you quoted from.

Hilarious!

Right off the bat it stated what possibly "could" happen.

Not what absolutely "would" happen.

Further in the article it discussed the fact that there could be fluctuations in the reality in opposition to the modeling and that the author of the could be prediction was described by other scientists as a person who was known to be "aggressive" in their predictions.

And later, to the BBC, Dr Serreze added: "I think Wieslaw is probably a little aggressive in his projections, simply because the luck of the draw means natural variability can kick in to give you a few years in which the ice loss is a little less than you've had in previous years. But Wieslaw is a smart guy and it would not surprise me if his projections came out."

It is as if the BBC Article writer-reporter, Jonathan Amos, was being fair and balanced and reporting what others are saying that could be or if it might be but not necessarily will be, nor was Amos dictating with absolute certainty what must be.

Zerohedge has no journalistic integrity whatsoever. They will push anything no matter how ridiculous.

And Tony Heller is the biggest cherry-picker in the climate denialist community.
