You know you are dealing with a cult member when ANY criticism of Trump if given, THEY immediately resort to accusing you of TDS, "hatred" of Trump, of being a "mad lib", or being a Globalist, or if the media posts anything critical of Trump they are fake news, if judges rule against Trump they are activist judges, corrupt judges, George Soros judges.

You also know you are dealing with a cult when THEY can NOT bear to hear anything negative about Trump, so will resort to whataboutisms, particular, whatabout Joe Biden.

You will recognize a member of a cult when they use simplistic, almost childish terms, and turn petulant when challenged.

But mostly one particular cult, the cult of Trump, causes his cult followers to be constantly going..............

I was at the beach over the weekend and spotted a couple who had planted a giant (like five foot) Trump flag in the sand, like they were claiming the beach for MAGA. My first thought was: Jesus Christ, people, get a personality or hobby that doesn’t revolve entirely around a shitbag politician. Can’t even take a break from the idolatry for a beach vacation. It is definitely a cult.

Hi Hatuey,

I voted; 'No'.

The reasons I voted 'No' is something I really had to think about. Checked a couple of things. The general consensus is that Trumpism does indeed display many of the traits of a Cult. However, it is not religious or spiritual in nature. It is political in nature. And for this reason, and only this reason, I think it is not a Cult, but a political movement.

But as a movement, I also think it is more dangerous than a Cult.

No. If you want to see a cult then just look at the personality cult that developed around Bernie Sanders and ripped the Democrat Party apart.

Anti-Trumpism? Yes.

The problem with Anti-Trumpism is that they're the ones where you will see far more often the adherents cutting people out of their lives for not agreeing with them.

I can disagree with Trump and not lose friends and family who are die hard Trump supporters, I've lost contact with family members who wanted nothing to do with anyone who didn't believe Trump was a Nazi.

The Democratic Party is becoming indistinguishable from the Church of Scientology in many ways. It really goes back to Obama who was the first President I can remember who told his followers to start arguments at family gatherings over politics. Now they all revel in the various aggressions against family who don't share their politics.
 
Everything points to a Trump cult. His followers follow the man, not any ideology or even policy positions. It is all about Trump to them and whatever he says is truth to them. Their reality is dictated by his words and nothing can change their minds. It is a classic cult of personality as was witnessed many times in past authoritarian government leaders.
 

Trumpism is real. It is the belief that everything Trump claims is true, that he is the only one who can save the country from some imagined doom, and that all good things that happen are attributable to Trump while all bad things that happen are attributable to his perceived enemies. Trumpism is a cult. Its followers value loyalty to Trump over family and country. They are responsible for the breakup of families and friends as Trump allows for no dissent at all and they follow his ways.
 

Nah. There are people who love Trump the same as there were people who loved Bush, Clinton, Obama, etc. I haven't met anyone who is cool with everything the guys says and does.

They are certainly less frequent than the Democrat supporters who disown their family for voting for Trump. And I haven't heard of any person you'd consider "Trumpist" who would disown family for voting for Kamala.

It's the isolation and control where the cult really gets going, and that is far more common among Democrats where far too many Democrats take it as a point of pride to disown family due to politics.

Do I think some people idolize Trump too much? Of course I do. Is it a cult? No. It's more like a die hard sports fan than a cult.
