Basically, the DoD was going to stop selling empty brass to georgia arms, and instead turn it to scrap and sell it to china for less than what they were selling it to Georgia arms for....

Any idea why? The author of that blog seems to think it's a sneaky effort to git his guns, but that seems unlikely to me.

Yeah that's a bit extreme, I could see it as a ploy, when sitting in the boad room discussing it, the possibility of reducing the amount of ammo available CONUS but I doubt it was a major factor.

I'd bet more on the DOD's legendary ability to mismanage money than some plan to raise the cost of ammunition. In any case, its a terrible idea and should be reversed as soon as possible. Why take a system that works perfectly and break it for no good reason?
