do we give guns to teachers and the kids?

I hear people saying that giving every teacher a gun to defend the class room is the way to stop mass shootings
how about we get guns out of schools do people support arming the kids too so they can protect themself from
other kids with guns then you got kids shooting each other not knowing who the original shooter was.

Self defense is good but some people take guns too far if you own 200 guns and you wear body armor
the sales of body armor has went up alot it starts to look suspicious when your stock piling weapons.

I just dont want more guns in schools i dont think that arming teachers is a good idea
what if a kid reaches for the teachers gun and how many teachers would work in a situation
where they are forced to use a gun or store a gun in a class room?

Regardless of whether its locked up or not your putting teachers in a position
where your making them law enforcement and your telling them to shoot
someone with it.

Some people would even argue that if a teacher locks his gun up in a class room
that it would take longer to grab it in a emergency situation but there has to
be some middle ground why cant we agree to reasonable gun restrictions?

If people are gonna say that every single type of restriction or idea or solution to stop gun violence
is against the constitution then how are we supposed to agree to anything?

If every idea someone has a problem with how do we agree and find a middle ground?

Raising the age to buy a gun to 21 is a good idea but people have a problem with that too.

i dont think there is a middle ground you cant work together with people that will never agree.

Americans are over-occupied about guns. But random killings, death by cop, etc. are climbing... and the solution is to give them MORE guns?

If every kid has a gun they can finally defend themselves. All that is needed is a good kid with a gun.
 
Giving teachers guns is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard.

We underpay, underfund, dump on, and demonize these people and now you want to arm them?

Besides, where does it stop?

 
I can testify that it would have been impossible to teach properly if I also had to be ready at any moment to draw a gun, aim, and shoot it, meanwhile never having my back to the one entrance into the classroom. I always walked around the classroom so I could speak to students individually. That would have had to go bye bye. My poor students. My poor stress levels. Already off the charts in that job, without piling on that responsibilty. **** that shite.

And neither do the mass-shooters. They would prefer to do their evil business in "gun-free zones" where they can do the most carnage before the good guys are called to the scene.

I haven't heard anyone suggesting this is the way to stop mass shootings. The point has been made that we are not going to stop crazy people from doing heinous things, so a teacher having a tool to protect just might save lives. It is just another layer of defense to combat crazies.

Yes, a teacher with a handgun is going to stop a shooter with an AR15 and body armor.

Teachers should be armed only if they wish to be. It should never be a requirement.

In Alaska many teachers are armed, as well as students. The high schools in Anchorage, for example, have indoor gun ranges built into the school. There are no guns kept at any of the schools in Alaska, which means that both teachers and students alike must bring their own firearms from home if they wish to use the gun range at the school.

What part of "shall not be infringed" escaped your grasp? You keep talking about restricting firearms, yet fail to comprehend that government is specifically prohibited from restricting firearms. Any form of government restriction or limitation on firearms is an infringement and therefore illegal.

The courts have already held that raising the age when someone can exercise their inherent right violates the US Constitution. Since all rights are inherent you have them upon birth, and government cannot deny, restrict, or limit those inherent rights without due process of law. Government certainly has no authority to deny anyone their inherent enumerated rights.

If people wanted government censorship, and to ban free speech completely, would you try to "compromise" your inherent right to find that "middle ground?" Or would you tell them to pound sand, and then defend your inherent rights against those trying to take them away?

Every individual has the inherent right to keep and bear arms, and government may not infringe on that inherent right.

Of course. How else can they teach kids firearm safety and proficiency?

The overwhelming majority of kids in Alaska are already armed. The parents typically teach them firearm safety and proficiency, but since 1977 Alaska decided to include indoor gun ranges at new high schools. If not for the oil royalties, I seriously doubt the government would have included those gun ranges. It is an expensive and unnecessary indulgence, but they were swimming in oil revenues so they had to spend it on something.
 
Lets just scream "fire" in a crowded theatre how else will people know how to run from a fire?

If there is an actual fire in a theater, then yelling "fire" would be entirely appropriate.
If the woman was armed and proficient with that firearm, then it would be unlikely that a sexual assault would occur. Are you advocating for more sexual assaults?

I began my firearms education at age 6. I was hunting with a 12-guage shotgun since age 8. My father bought me my very first firearm on my tenth birthday.

Age means nothing, it is all about the education, and that is precisely what schools are for.
 
So your fine with pre schoolers learning about guns and shooting them in gun ranges?
 
Lets just give a 4 year old a ar 15 if age means nothing right?

A gun from your dad is different were talking about schools your saying gun ranges in schools.

A school is not a gun range you learn how to read and write not target practice.

No. The gun range is for 16 year olds and older. Alaska law requires children who are armed and under the age of 16 to be under the supervision of their parent/guardian. Which means that children who are 15 years old or younger cannot bring their firearms to school because their parents/guardian wouldn't be there to supervise them.
