I keep on hearing Progressives saying they want unity and are mad that their opposition for being ''divisive''. Yet they keep on talking about how their opposition doesn't offer any policies, that they are racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and fascist or fascist-adjacent, and being evil misogynists who want women to die instead of allowing abortions, and who want to take away the freedom of Progressives. None of that promotes unity. So what do Progressives want, unity or conflict?
 
Supporter of "**** your feelings" Trumpism and a literal attempt to overthrow the government to install an election loser whines about unity. Haven't heard that before.



If you want unity in a democracy, you need to stop assaulting democracy.
 

Until MAGA is extinguished, there can be no unity and no one should want anything but it's extinction.

unity through a legitimate supreme court and no election deniers. what part is false, they want to shut the government down end democracy and force raped children to give birth

Accept election results. Stop demonizing women and minorities. Stop calling us Marxists and Commies. Stop suggesting a civil war.
I mean it is really hilarious listening to the bleating of the Right about how we talk about them without mentioning how they talk about us.

Do you mean like the people who said the 2016 election was stolen, that Trump was an illegitimate President, that Trump colluded with Russian intelligence and Putin to steal the election? That kind of assault on Democracy? LOL.

Doesn't democracy mean that people with vastly disparate viewpoints vote on the outcome of elections and referenda, and then the one who wins the most votes gets elected?

Or, do you think it means that once the election is over, everyone who disagrees must shut up and fall into line behind the elected person?
 
I find it remarkable that folks on the Left can be completely oblivious to their own side's calls for war, violence, insurrection, calling their opponents Nazis and fascists, and demonizing their opponents, and then with a straight face demand that their opponents stop returning the favor....

Of course some on the right call some on the left Commies and Marxists - because some of the Left literally ARE commies and Marxists. That's the epitome of Left. Being a communist and a Marxist is left wing, and they do exist. Progressive love collectivism, and they sympathize with socialism and the concepts and underpinnings of Marxist socialism as well as communism. Progressives tend to view Communism as an "ideal" -- something that would be great if we could manage it, but too bad it's just impossible due to a defect in human nature. Let's not pretend that socialism and communism is something Progressives reject.

And Progressives still haven't acccepted the legitimacy of the 2016 election. Y'all went for years thinking and sincerely claiming that Trump stole the election by conspiring and colluding with Putin and Russian intelligecne and that he was not a legitimate President. If you folks can reject the 2016 election, then your opposition isn't out of line rejecting one they disagree with, too, eh?

Obama tried Unity. Republicans told him to go **** himself every single solitary time he tried to offer an Olive branch. We're through playing nice with you people.

We are the Majority, and if you want us to listen to you now, it's your responsibility to be diplomatic and kiss our ass, not the other way around.

From where I'm sitting right now, the best way to achieve Unity in this country is to work with moderates and a few reasonably sane Republicans that still exist to run the MAGA Cult into the ground.

We are no longer under any obligation to prove to you that we deserve respect, it is up to you to prove to us that you still deserve it. Every minute you spend with your lips sucking Trump's dick puts you farther and farther from ever being relevant again.

Unity is hard to come by in a society when you have a large segment of the population being controlled by the Puppet Masters.
Puppet Masters = Enormous wealth + Psychiatrists + Media
 
Neither? They have a set of political goals they want to achieve. Who wouldn’t want their political opponents to agree with them an have “unity”? In practice political parties will lead to conflict, though not necessarily because those parties want conflict.

Total BS, but I have gotten used to the unenlightened and uneducated making points like this.
By YOUR definition of Progressives, we here in Canada, those in Europe, in South America, in Australia, in Japan and S. Korea are all Marxists.
Sorry to say this, but the more the Right bleats about how they are being talked about the more I have to laugh after all the insults they hurled our way over the years, I mean, why do YOU think I adopted the username SNOWFLAKE (bet you can't figure that one out).

Something else to consider: we on the Left didn't like it much when you on the Right kept insulting us, but we sucked it up and moved on. NOW the tables are turned I read thread after thread on here and other forums from Righties weeping in their soups about how upset they are at being put down.

I would say the Right needs to GROW A PAIR. Simple as that.

The Left wanted to shut down the government in 2020 and 2021, and otherwise under Trump, and they wanted to force people to get untested vaccines, limit freedom of speech, limit freedom of assembly, limit freedom of religion, and limit the right to keep and bear arms.

I know of vanishingly few people who want to make raped children give birth. I, for one, am pro choice.

I didn't scream or rage any more than the creator of the exact same poll question asking the same thing about conservatives. I mean, isn't the question fair directed both directions? Why can't your side ever tolerate even a modicum of evaluation and exploration of your side's views? You're side is human, too. You believe shit that ain't so. You believe shit that is wrong, incorrect, etc., and there ill come times when you realize that something you believe today is not what you will believe in the future. The degree of moral outrage from the Left far outstrips even that which I lived through from the Moral Majority and religious right of the 80s and 90s. So much unbridled hate and vitriol spew from the Left constantly these days, and righteous indignation a-plenty.

The question is not simple to answer.

There are progressives who want both. Some looking toward unity and will reach across the aisle or within the moderate wing of the Democratic Party.

There are also other progressives who want conflict. They want their agenda passed on their terms and may vote down bills that do not go far enough.
