The whistleblower states that William Barr is involved as well.

"he sought to pressure the Ukranian leader to take actions to help the president's 2020 reelection bid"

Oh yeah?!? Got more?

You mean the phantom who heard someone say something about what someone heard someone said about what someone said the President might have said?

This likely Biden holdover should be exposed.

They aren't a whistleblower, they are a political operative who shouldn't be shielded by the legitimate protections of whistleblower laws.

Nothing.

Burger.

The Whistleblower Complaint has been released: https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/20190812_-_whistleblower_complaint_unclass.pdf

Reading the complaint, it is incredibly clear the President is absolutely corrupt. The fact White House officials placed the call transcript between Trump and Zelensky in the super secret database, in violation of established protocols, shows the White House KNEW what happened was wrong.

The President is betraying our country. His campaign was proven to have worked with Russia (and other countries) to win the 2016 election, he has obstructed justice, he is an unindicted co-conspirator for a crime Trump's personal attorney is currently in jail for and now we have explicit proof (not evidence, proof) of Trump trying to leverage US policy against Ukraine for his personal benefit by trying to create a scandal (which has repeatedly been debunked) against his very likely 2020 presidential election rival.

Why Republicans still support him, I do not understand. They could toss him to the curb, nominate Pence for President and probably win. Their insistence on backing Trump is true cowardice.

The released “transcript” was damning! Mueller Report was damning! Usual suspects are barking their support.........

Insane. The president directly withheld apportioned funds as previously reported. Moreover, the president is having transcripts illicitly sealed in systems they are not supposed to be in, so they can be hidden away.

This is going to blow wide open.

Don't need it . That's enough (though, yes, there is plenty more). You need new talking points.
You mean the phantom who heard someone say something about what someone heard someone said about what someone said the President might have said?
You should try actually reading the Complaint. It will keep you from saying such stupid things.

Trumplicans are already out with "this is all second and third hand information!".

Yes, but isn't that why it is much better that the official took this all to the IG so the information contained therein could be investigated? The whole idea behind this whistleblower law is to draw attention to what may be damaging to intelligence activities. It is not meant as a smoking gun to send to the press.

The really funny part of the OP's sentence "he sought to pressure the Ukranian leader to take actions to help the president's 2020 reelection bid" is that it lays out the dems' modus operandi.

When Trump got elected, they blamed it on Russia having helped him.
When Trump gets re-elected, they're gonna blame the Ukraine for having helped him.

And the whole witch hunt is gonna start all over again.

The Trump appointed IG investigated and found it "urgent" and "credible".

So, you know.

I am not at all shocked you think it's funny that Trump was actively seeking foreign influence in American elections.

When Trump got elected, they blamed it on Russia having helped him.
Russia did. This has been confirmed by numerous Congressional investigations, investigations by the intelligence community and investigation by the FBI/Special Counsel.

When Trump gets re-elected, they're gonna blame the Ukraine for having helped him.
Only if Ukraine does, since we know for a fact Trump is pressuring them to do so.

Why is it not at all surprising you have no problems with foreign influence in American elections?

Yes, I do. But I want to fight back against the obvious Trumplican talking point about the whistleblower not having first hand knowledge. Had the WB claimed such, that would be bad, but s/he was very clear right up front.

Methinks everyone here should wait for the actual call transcript to be released before insisting it's [CHECK ONE: [ ] a red hot smoking gun | [ ] a laughable nothingburger] proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that [CHECK ONE: [ ] Pres. Trump is corrupt and should be impeached | [ ] Democrats are desperate].

Just a thought. :coffeepap

I see you received your copy of the White House fax instructing all Trump sycophants on how to counter-point anything with 'deny, deflect, delay'

Also, this complaint was not written for public consumption, though it was written so it could be publicly released. Like you said, there was never a claim of firsthand knowledge, but there is little doubt the WB could point to those who do have firsthand knowledge.

The call summary alone proves the corruption. I'm sure the full transcript will be even worse.

There will be no "transcript". What you got yesterday is all there is. According to others who were involved in previous admins, what was released yesterday was typically all that is ever created for such calls.

Oh you betcha! The two I cited was merely the very first two I heard, and since then, there's an avalanche happening that's going to bury Trump's presidency.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the impeachment push is doomed to failure. First off, it us an inquiry at this point, and if charged and sent on to the Senate it will die. Like it or not trump will Not be removed from office over this and will in all likelihood not change anyone's vote next year. Give up the impeachment push and beat trump at the polls in 2020, all ya gotta do is get people to show up and vote and the WH is yours.

Meh. The whistleblower used the phone call as premise for the complaint. The phone call doesn't have a clear-cut example of coercion or bribery...Learned opinions say yes and no.
A definitive would have to go all the way to SCOTUS. You want an impeachment based on the Ukrainian phone call where legal precedents would have to be decided later?

I can just imagine a campaign slogan for 2020: Vote Democratic in hopes a SCOTUS vacancy can be filled by a democratic president to validate the impeachment of Trump...

I've been doing so.
