Conservatives' definition of liberty tends to be at odds with what liberty really means for the general population, arguing that social media platforms should on one hand be forced to platform speech they don't want to host (hate speech, medical/scientific/political misinformation, etc.) and crying about Biden's 'truth ministry' or whatever it was while turning around and endorsing the idea that AG Bondi and FBI Director Patel should aggressively use the federal government's vast resources to target left-wing 'extremists' Joseph McCarthy style.

Dude, just give it up. You people have been exposed for the authoritarian impulses you truly support. As I said, at its core, conservatism is authoritarian. It's just that there have been times in the history of democracy when democracies have built sufficient social, cultural, political, and legal guardrails against their worst impulses to keep them in check. For years the left have espoused freedom of speech by opposing free speech!
