From what I have heard, and from what I know about trying cases, there was sufficient reasonable doubt especially on the First Degree Murder charge
I don't believe so. I don't believe the state proved beyond any reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony killed her child.
This I have to agree with ... there's a dead child and no one convicted for it.
Lack of evidence + mismanagement of the case= not guilty
If you want to know why "people like me" are angry, it's because Casey was found not guilty yet I am 95% certain that she is NOT innocent.
She was not charged with child neglect, although she probably should have been. She was charged with child abuse but I believe there was no evidence presented that she abused Caylee. From what little I understand about the case and in my highly uninformed opinion, she should of been convicted of the child neglect and/or abuse charges.
If I heard correctly, she failed to report the disappearance for 1 month.
Stillballin75, it's not easy to just "get over" this obvious injustice.
This issue angers me far, far more than political discussion ever could. I can't think of that sweet little girl and get over it.
wow. Imagine going to a court full of people who just KNEW you were guilty from the start. That would be a failure of the legal system.
Not guilty =/= innocent.

They can still charge her with child neglect though.
No double jeopardy with that.
who's your new avatar? Dat nigga looks ghey.
Al Franken as Stewart Smalley, circa 1990's SNL.
It's the price we pay for the justice system we have, and we keep it that way for a very good reason. If she is truly guilty then God will give her justice.
I don't believe she's innocent. I believe she was at the very least, aware of Caylee's death; and at the worst, responsible for it. But I also believe our justice system requires the state to prove that in a court of law to a jury of her peers beyond any reasonable doubt ... and I believe the state failed to do that. That doesn't make her innocent. She's intelligent yet narcissistic. I believe she committed the crime. One needn't be blind to nothing but evidence.
It's actually not difficult to murder and escape justice.
I see you've finally come around.
I agree with you on this.
They say karma is a *****.
What would you think if someone killed her, similar to what happened with Vander slu*, the guy who killed Holloway? Would you feel God may have passed judgment? I don't know. I just feel deeply that Casey is the murderer, and that she will walk.

Damn Al looks yung!!!
You make me feel old now. :2mad:
I have no idea whether Casey is a murderer or not, but the fact remains that this day, our justice system worked the way it was designed to, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
And yes, I believe that if she is indeed truly guilty, karma will come around and bite her in the ass.
Yes, double jeopardy still applies. Double jeopardy applies to the offense, not the specific charages. They can still charge her with child neglect though.
No double jeopardy with that.
But then a question worthy of its own thread arises...
...if our system is designed in such a way that intelligent and thorough people can slip through, is it really such a good system?
The American Justice System always gets it right.
Just ask O.J.
