Obama did not "kinda" win the election. He won. That indeed is a mandate. If you still dont understand google mandate.
Romney actually won many more states but Obama won the big ones with the biggest electoral vote.
The electoral college wins the election, I'll give you that. But when talking about a "mandate" we're talking about the will of the people. The will of the people is reflected best by the popular vote. 48 staes in the United States are all or nothing states. That means that in each of those states, a margin of one vote assigns the entirety of electoral votes for that state. Hardly something to beat your chest over.

Did you google it?
I dont think that word means what you think it does.
when you win it by over 100 votes it
100 votes out of 120 million has that kind of impact?
No more then a president who made a lot of promises and did not keep any of them and still got reelected.
if it tips the balance in the electoral college - you bet.
how many presidents have won the election without a majority of the popular vote? Bush was the last one.
Ok, so, you think Bush had a mandate despite not winning the popular vote in his first election? Since, apparently...a mandate is defined by the electoral college?
of course. he won the election by the constitutional process and winning an election is a mandate.
exactly.
Ok, cool. Then you have no issue what-so-ever with the invasion of Iraq, being a mandate of the people and all...
Right?
Popular vote was 51/49. You know this. The actual votes are more important than the electoral college.
What do you think?

GerrymanderingI think this election with Obama being reelected along with the Republican House just tells me America doesn't know what the heck is going on. How does a congress with a 9% approval rating have an 80%+ reelection rate? It doesn't make any sense.
