Morally subversive by who
parasitic politicians
envious losers who are mad that others aren't being taxed even more?
you are being dishonest because you are counting FICA
There is nothing unpatriotic about paying only what taxes you owe.
I reject that notion - and I call upon all other conservatives to reject - and refuse to call President Obama an unpatriotic man who puts the nation behind his own narrow financial interests, just because he takes advantage of the credits and loopholes in the tax code to reduce his tax bill.
While Romney's favorable rating has remained steady (47% now compared to 48% in July), his unfavorable rating has jumped from 42% last month to 48% now. The president's 56%-42% favorable-unfavorable rating now is little changed from July.
Among independents, the poll indicates Romney's image has taken a beating. In May, only 40% of independents had an unfavorable view of Romney. Now, 52% of independents have a negative view of him.
Other findings: Sixty-four percent of all Americans, and 68% of independents, think Romney favors the rich over the middle class. And 63% of the public thinks Romney should release more tax returns than he has already made public, a figure which rises to 67% among independents.
Tax havens are legal by virtue of being tax havens. They are still perceived as culturally and morally subversive.
Yup - you are right about that obligation.
But what does that have to do with the man who wants to lead America and its people showing that they are a patriot who puts the nation first in their own financial and economic decisions?
Of course you reject it. Of course you call on others on the right to reject it. It makes Mittens look bad and your priority is electing him.
Dishonest!?!?!?!?!??! I am counting the taxes I pay to the federal government and the exact same taxes in the same categories that Mittens pays to the federal government.
That is 100% perfectly and completely honest.
Both Romney and Obama pay only what they owe and not a cent more. Until you are willing to accept and deal with that, and willing to demonstrate that as a patriot you pay more than you owe, your posts on the subject reek of hypocrisy.
It doesn't tell me anything, but that he is financially smart. Being a patriot has nothing to do with how much you pay in taxes. There is no "putting the nation first" in your own financial and economic decisions. Business is business, and taxes are a legal, not moral, obligation. I don't tend to judge a president by his feelings and false proclamations, but by his sense and ability to make sound judgements. We don't need a daddy, nor a mommy, but a strong leader who has some actual working ideas and understands how an economy works, not just what he envisions the nation should be.
fantastic. I would bet that Romney pays exactly the same rate of taxation that you do on FICA, and that he pays a higher income tax as well.

I am not criticizing Romney or anyone else for taking deductions open to them. I simply am saying that me as a citizen and voter want to hold the President of the USA to a standard as Patriot #1 who places the nation and its people above their own personal financial interests.
That is not hypocrisy. It is a standard I apply to ALL people who ask me for their vote for President of the USA.

The real questions are: Does it feckin matter? Is the answer going to change your mind?
Damn few people licking Romney anus today were licking Romney anus six months ago. That's a fact, and you can go back and look that up if you are so inclined. I'm going to suddenly vote for Romney because it is determined that he was a tax paying mofo? Don't insult me.
I'm not voting for Obama either. The presidential campaign has been dumbed down to the point that even I am insulted and I'm originally from Georgia!
It's all gotten so bad that I don't listen to jack**** about either candidate because:
1. I am feckin sick of it. I am fed the **** up with it from both sides. This may be difficult for some of you to accept, but I'm more intelligent that 98% of the people that both parties are slinging **** at.
2. I'm still voting for Gary Johnson. In fact, I'm voting for him with even more conviction than ever before. Johnson represents more of what I believe America can be and should be than the country under Obama and Romney combined.
3. All the positioning bull****, caca, blather and tripe is so goddamned old. I want America back. The GOP and Democrats took it away. No way in hell do I believe those rat bastards are committed to giving it back.
Gary Johnson is the only candidate that will not drastically harm America were he President, imo.
And as a bonus, I think he would actually help America...a rare thing for the guy in the oval office.
So, to you, a person is not patriotic unless they pay more taxes then they legally have to pay?
If the man followed the law it is a non-issue
this is all about class warfare operatives trying to stir up resentment against Romney in the minds of the ne'er do wells
If the IRS/federal government says they are legally fine with whatever Romney did with his money - wherever it is - then I am fine with it. And unless he did something illegal with it, then it is NONE of your/my business where it is.
If he placed (legally) a TON of his money off shore for tax purposes - good for him.
Only a moron would pay more taxes then he/she legally has to.
And I don't want a moron in the WH.
