I have no idea if this link is going to work or not since it goes to a FaceBook video of a Detroit PD press conference.
Anyway, Detroit cops pull up and start to arrest some guy who was just standing there doing nothing. The guy's buddy IMMEDIATELY puts his hands straight in the air and then, as the cop start to pay attention to him, he turns and flees but the cops blow him away. What else could this kid have done? He put his hands up. He tried to leave the area. Then the cops shot him because he's black. It's no wonder we have riots.

What is the point of this thread? This has nothing to do with cops killing innocent people. Do you think that all black people should be shot down because some are criminals.I have no idea if this link is going to work or not since it goes to a FaceBook video of a Detroit PD press conference.

I Googled this story and am getting conflicting stories, but there are reports that the suspect fired at the officer before the police shot him. If this is true, it is one of the very few times police should be authorized to use lethal force.

No, the police should never use deadly force. Because black people are only acting violent because of white systems of oppression

That's what I surmise.
I'm not going to watch the video for the simple reason that I'm tired of watching death-by-police videos, but I don't mind taking the word of reliable sources that the suspect did fire shots. I do wonder about whether he pointed his gun in the general vicinity of the officers, but I'm guessing that he did.

That's an understatement.
Your latest armchair quarterbacking does not make you a reliable source. Dismissed. :2wave:That's what I surmise.

You highlighted the wrong phrase of my post. Here, let me help you:

You need not guess since the linked video(s) show that the "suspect" did fire at one of the officers immediately before he was shot (four times) by three police officers.
That's what I surmise.

He was 3 or four feet away, and it was a point and shoot at a specific cop.
But why does it matter? It's OK to fire on police as long as it's just general vicinity?
And this is the part of my post that you need highlighted:
Another case of lies being told to distort the truth and create a problem with police where there was none. This is the problem we see in these shootings, the immediate claims that its murder, an unwarranted shooting. That's BS in this case and many others but it's what we often see. The Body cams clearly show what happened and despite that video some are still claiming murder. YOu cannot fix a problem where there is no problem and you cannot fix situations where there is a problem when you cannot believe the sincerity of the accusers.
