Executive Summary: industrious choirboy uses his brass knuckles to break into a house just before midnight last week. Homeowner announces that he's armed and tells choirboy leave. Choirboy replies, "You'll have to kill me."

Okey dokey, Smokey.

Except for the property damage, it sounds like a win-win.

No word yet if Boston Mayor Witless Wu has extended her condolences to the family of the deceased.
 
That's ridiculous. The shooter was safe behind a locked door. He didn't have to shoot until the door was breached. He should have called 911 before pulling the trigger. The shooter could have hurt/killed someone else. Where did the rest of the bullets go? The shooter had no idea. He shot through a closed door. It was reckless and irresponsible.
 

Why would the Boston Mayor comment on a Missouri shooting?
 
This does not appear to be just some random home invasion by an unknown robber. The parties to the shooting appear to be socially involved with one another. The hopeful intruder who never gained entry was determined to get into the home because his own wife was there with another guy. The article doesn't explain why the wife of the deceased was at the home of the shooter but since she was there at 11:30PM the reader is left to put the pieces together.

It might be better instead of choosing to own a gun, which more frequently results in a domestic home shooting, to choose not to mess around with somebody else's wife.

The dead man was 31. 4 kids. Veteran and OTR trucker.

I don't care the circumstance, I would not want it on my conscience that I killed someone.

I feel very sorry for anyone who kills and suffers for it. I feel even sorrier for those who kill and don't suffer for it.

You've shown me unacceptable personal disrespect here. I have shown you none; but instead discussed only the subject. That means you know you have a losing position, (the very story you quoted said the intruder's wife was in the shooter's house with the shooter at 11:30 PM) so to try to distract away from your failed point you've attempted to make it about me; and gone personal. Now, anybody can do that very immature dysfunctional thing to another person out of the blue once. Granted. It's kind of like a verbal sucker punch. But that sets some wheels into motion. Now that you've shown that you will disrespect me, if I continue talking to you, it is the same as granting you permission to disrespect me again. An abusive relationship is established. I'm not going to do that. I will not be an enabler for online abuse. This leaves me no option other than to cut it off between us. We shall talk no more. Nothing personal (by choice) but this is the best course now. The best outcome is that you reflect upon my words and see that I am correct on both counts. That's up to you now. Have a good life.
