U.S. foreign policy has for quite a while been at odds with the intent of our founding fathers. We’ve stuck our noses in places where we didn’t belong, i.e. Central America, Viet Nam, Iraq, etc.. Strategically located is right. The Northwest Passage might soon be a route between Asia and Europe and Greenland and Alaska are at either end of it.
Watch for an announcement that the USA considers it to be 'international waters' where it passes through the narrows between Canadian islands.
