as I noted, she's gleeful. the "greater good" collectivists often see the deaths of innocents as a benefit when you can use their deaths to advance the malignancy of the gun ban collectivist movement. Until we get more information, calls for any "remedies" is stupid

remember all those bannerrhoid politicians who screamed for waiting periods and background checks after SandyHook even though the killer murdered his own mother to get guns she had registered, undergone a background check and waited to buy? the fact is-gun banners don't care about the facts of a case, if there are dead innocents, that's good enough for some of them to start howling for erosion of our freedoms even though such schemes invariably wouldn't have stopped the killing

The one conclusion that we always get to, there was really nothing that could have been done to prevent this from happening.

Interesting that he didn’t proffer the legislation he’d like to see. I’ve been thinking about this guy and his fully automatic weapon. Since I seriously doubt he obtained the proper license, he either bought it illegally or modified his firearm(s).

I know the purists won’t like it, but I advocate extremely tough first-time mandatory sentencing for anyone either owning a retrofit or illegally buying a fully automatic anything. And for sellers? Throw them in jail and throw away the key. Even juveniles. I would also support legislation that required new manufactures to incorporate design technology that would make retrofitting to automatic fire impossible.

Can you imagine? Fifty-plus dead. Four hundred plus wounded.

The debate was never about gun control it was about gun banning for your side, which you are correct, ain't happening.

Ugh **** you and your take on people who want to ban guns. It is not some grand conspiracy to inconvenience you. You are not that important. They do it because they care about people's lives, like the 50 in Vegas today. Yes, many people are misguided about the ways that we could actually reduce deaths, you yourself opened my eyes to reasons why registrations and things are unlikely to be helpful, but your complete misrepresentation of the motivations of gun control people is probably the most dishonest debate tactic this site has seen.

A full gun ban is the only real solution to the gun issue. But not only is it politically untenable, there are other geographical and social realities that make it less of an effective solution here than in other countries around the world where it works.

All a gun ban would do is disarm the law abiding. I don't have any desire to be a defenseless victim.

This kind of thing happens exponentially more here than it does anywhere else, and every time its the same bull**** response about "there is no way this could have been prevented". We have 4 to 5 times (or more) the murder rate here than you will find in any of our peer developed nations. Even nations like France which are targets of Islamic terrorism have a 1/4 of our murder rate.

Ok I get where your coming from,but have you ever shot an automatic weapon?they are fun.
I could go to Wal-Mart and buy what I needed to take far more lives than that psycho did last night. Gun are just tools how you use them is already covered by laws.

Yawn. How many legally owned guns are used to commit crimes?
The answer is very few.
So, people who shouldn't have guns are committing acts that are illegal while illegally in possession of weapons. Your answer is to "Ban" all guns, something that would take a Constitutional Convention to even begin to start...

Are you arguing against stronger sentencing? Are you arguing that you should be able to retrofit a firearm to be automatic fire? Not sure what your point is.

No, my answer is not to ban all guns. I own several guns. To be honest, I don't know what the answer is. I just know I am sick of hearing people say "nothing could be done to prevent this".
