It is alright that you were committing a logical fallacy and asking people to prove negatives, Bodi.
Just learn to debate better.
Padillo did not lie concerning the "lunging" accusation. He did not lunge at Noem. But if you watch a more complete video you'll see his resisting and pushing against the agents to continue forward could very well be described as "lunging."I didn't say I had proof. It may be an important question, but we don't have evidence. And I haven't posted that he lunged or ran or charged.
If I don't have evidence, should we conclude that he indeed charged/ran/lunged? If I don't have evidence for it, should we post that he lunged/ran/charged?
I saw the network TV coverage about 30 minutes after it happened. I saw coverage on either CNN or ABC and there was an interview of one of journalists in the room. She used the words "stepped forward" and that he was no closer at any time than 15ft. In coverage after that on a different channel there were 2 other journalists who were eyewitnesses in the room and they had detailed descriptions of the incident, but they didn't include or mention him moving in any direction before he was detained. They simply didn't say Anything about it.
That evening he was on MSNBC and he claimed that he didn't lunge at her. I'm not aware that any journalists in the room has claimed that he lied by saying that, or that they witnessed him doing anything more than "stepped forward" .
Why hasn't any journalist in the room said he charged , lunged or ran.
in Russia.
In America it was as american as apple pie before Trump.
Trump is making America more like Russia.
Sigh. You people have such inferiority complexes. He acted like he thought he was better than everyone in the room and didn't have to wait his turn in line while Noem fielded questions. He spoke out turn, disrupting the presser, and did not identify himself until he was out of the room. Security did not know who he was. Lawfully, he was treated just like everybody else would be.
So you don't know.
Which eyewitness said that he charged at her?I said that we don't know, so saying the we know he is innocent and she is bad... is stupid uneducated blather.
That's my understanding at this time.Padillo did not lie concerning the "lunging" accusation. He did not lunge at Noem.
But if you watch a more complete video you'll see his resisting and pushing against the agents to continue forward could very well be described as "lunging."
.
And of course, he didn't get any closer than 15 feet because the Secret Service/FBI stopped him. By his description he was seated until he couldn't take "it" anymore and got up to "ask" his question. And here we are at post #1,178 still wrangling over whether or not the provocateur was mistreated.
Hmmm maybe?
Maybe.Because kristi is now talking to him and meeting with him.
So it may have worked to a degree?
Yeah.It was still stupid but ill wait and see how it pans out on the backend.
Theatrics on the part of Padilla in my opinion, but I don't disagree with the questions he had. It's just about finding a more effective way of dealing with the clown show instead of adding to it.I haven't weighted in on this whole kerfuffle but my take is that an idiot decided to behave like an idiot during another idiot's idiocy, causing the latter idiot to score one Idiot Point over the former idiot, but the way it was handled caused the former idiot to score one Idiot Point over the latter idiot.
In conclusion, they're both idiots.
Re: For the record - He could've protested differently. But I don't blame him. The agents could have acted differently, and I object to what they did. That's my understanding at this time.
So you mean lunging at the Agents, but not specifically lunging at her. I wouldn't disagree.
Which still means people in the room estimated that he was never more than 15 feet away from her.
For the record - He could've protested differently. But I don't blame him. The agents could have acted differently, and I object to what they did.
I mostly agree, but even if the agents were compliant with FBI policies I don't think they should have chosen that. I can say I don't blame them until the moments outside the room in the hallway. Before that, I understand what they did.Re: For the record - He could've protested differently. But I don't blame him. The agents could have acted differently, and I object to what they did.
The few comments from former federal law enforcement officers I've read or listened to uniformly claim the agents acted correctly. Some differ on what happened once they had Padillo outside the conference room (he should not have been put down on the ground and cuffed.)
And to clarify and agree, yes, any "lunging" was against the agents and nowhere near Noem.
Are you suggesting the head of DHS is intimidated by a fat middle-aged man, what with all the security that is present?Condoning a man intimidating a woman

Sigh. You people have such inferiority complexes.
He was an unhinged maniac. I was amazed by the restraint that law enforcement showed when they restrained him. They would have been well within their protocol to use their tasers. Please show your proof that he didn't charge her...
,
My guess is Padillo does consider himself lucky, but not for not being tased. He was an unhinged maniac. I was amazed by the restraint that law enforcement showed when they restrained him. They would have been well within their protocol to use their tasers.
He should consider himself lucky.
Virtue signaling nonsense is about all these people have left to offer, I'm afraid. My guess is Padillo does consider himself lucky, but not for not being tased.
He was interviewed earlier today by Dana Bash's State of the Union program. Still claiming he was only trying to ask a question. But the incident gave him a worldwide platform to express his indignation and list his complaints. Not a word about the meeting with Noem following the incident.

No, you were being dishonest and that got pointed out and now you're mad.
Maybe they should have cut his feet off.He was an unhinged maniac. I was amazed by the restraint that law enforcement showed when they restrained him. They would have been well within their protocol to use their tasers.
He should consider himself lucky.
This is grounds for Noem's removal. The officers in question must be terminated and their benefits and pensions must be cancelled.Sen. Padilla is forcefully removed from Noem's news conference on immigration raids and handcuffed
Democratic U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla of California has been forcefully removed from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s news conference in Los Angeles and handcuffed by officers as he tried to speak up about immigration raids that have led to protests in California and elsewhere.apnews.com
Okay, I suppose, if the next time Boebert and MTG cause a scene they can be shackled.
Nazi shit.
