David Muir halts ABC news program for breaking news announcement about Trump and Epstein files

David Muir took fans by surprise on Thursday, July 24 when he started off ABC World News Tonight with “breaking news involving [Donald] Trump and the Jeffrey Epstein files.”

The 51-year-old host said, “The Wall Street Journal is now reporting that Attorney General Pam Bondi and her deputy Todd Blanche told President Trump back in May that his name appears in the Epstein files multiple times.”

Before handing the matter over to Mary Bruce, he said, “Tonight, the Republican-led House Oversight Committee subpoenaed Jeffrey Epstein’s former companion Ghislaine Maxwell, who of course is serving a 20-year prison sentence.”

Bruce then went more into the topic with more depth, saying the alleged reason the attorney general told Trump they were planning on not releasing the files was because “they contained child pornography and personal information about the victims.”

Those things can be redacted.

The files need to be released.
