In response to Donald Trump’s reelection as US president – and the wider withering of progressive, democratic politics across the world – people are calling for liberals to up their game and lower their tone. To wrest back power from right-wing politicians with no moral code, they argue, the left-leaning liberals need to learn to fight dirty as well. It’s time to go “dark woke”.

To be clear: no one seems capable of agreeing on what dark woke actually means, or able to give an indisputable example of “dark wokeism”. Some have pointed to AOC calling the new Republican government “rapists” and telling critics: “Oh, are you triggered? It's long past time. Unfortunately, most of our Democratic leaders do not have it in them. Going hard and mean goes against their instincts. We either need a completely transformed Democratic Party with new leaders or a grassroots movement like this country has never seen before.

Its time to simply get back to common sense and basics, support unions and American labor.
Drop the constant identity politics thing and stop announcing it every time they appoint a minority to a post like its the most awesome thing ever. Treat minorities like you treat other people.
DEFINITELY stop with the crap like cross dressers should be able to use women locker rooms, showers, bathrooms, etc. Thats just lunacy, its easy fodder to turn people against you.

Morgan Freeman said "Stop calling me a black man and just call me a man." I agree with that. Stop dividing everything up by color, sex, etc. The nation was making strides towards greater equality and acceptance IMO, but that was set WAY back by all the BLM and cop bashing stuff.

Democrats need to learn how to fight. Not on every front, all the time. But it's no good to consistently stand on principle to be 'the good guys' when the result is getting smacked in the nuts as Republicans zip past on the low road, and the next result is failing to do the good works for people that were intended.
