BY turning part of the border into a military base, Trump can use the military to stop and arrest anyone who tries to pass. Now much of this is private land and I wonder if Trump can make it part of a military base without congress's approval. I suspect if the courts allow it, the hole of the southern border will end up being part of one base or another and we will take one more step into being an autocratic country.

Do you suppose they’ll also put up “Trespassers Will Be Shot” signs?

Not for anything but what difference will it make even if the courts rule against him.

He will just give them the finger and say “Stop me!”….

Not for nothing, but seditionist judges are not the commander in chief of the armed forces - though they view themselves as dictators with absolute power.

Yes. The executive branch should not be subject to the judicial branch. Any attempt to do so is judges being dictators. That's what the founding fathers intended. /s

Sounds like a winning policy, unless you are in favor of illegal immigration.

Come on now. They are just going to use tranquilizer darts. May even be able to make big money by selling 10 shots for $1,000 dollars. Lower taxes, pays off the debt. A beautiful thing.

I am in favour of having a tightly controlled border, so don't personally have an issue with using the army to achieve that if needed. I do however have a huge issue with Trump continually stretching the bounds of legal credibility to avoid letting congress govern in the way to is meant to do. I am more scared of the executive unconstitutionally usurping power from congress than I am of illegal migrants if those are the only two choices.

Donald Trump has shown that illegal activity and behavior is a winning policy. After all, we now have a 34-count convicted felon and rapist running our country, and you love it. And you seem to be in favor of an illegal, rogue executive branch not answerable to the courts or congress.

With the border becoming a "military base" that people from both sides of the border is not to enter, then why do we need the border patrol? The border is sealed, right?

ICE can handle the legal port of entries. Surprised DOGE has not proposed this as a cost savings.

/sarcasm off

Yes, it will be held up by the courts, who probably prefer living where they live to El Salvador.

I don’t know. Trump has already talked about shooting protesters in DC below the knees.

Remember, his good friend putin is "securing russias border" by invading (bombing/killing) Ukraine.

But hey, it's not like he'd do anything to hurt our reputaion or standing in the world, right.

You heard it here first folks

Judges upholding the law/constitution = "sedition"

Is this just more of the endless stream of empty bullshit
or has Trump taken any action on this?

You heard it here first folks, leftist judges staging an attempted coup of the executive branch = upholding the law/constitution - the "minds" of the radical left.
