I don't necessarily disagree with you in general that people's private lives shouldn't be a consideration for their company. However in this case they are both the chief officers of the company, she is the lead HR person for the org. That creates a super bad look. On that basis one or both needed to resign. I agree they shouldn't resign for having an affair, that's not our business.
Why is it a bad look? People have been screwing their coworkers since they first started introducing women to the workforce.
Just can't get worked up over it. I'm more bothered by how AI is making our society much worse, destroying jobs, consuming resources, and making us dumber.
