I'm old fashioned. Heck I didn't even have a computer in the house until around 5 years ago. I still have my landline although my daughter gave me a cell phone a couple of years back. The kind I can make and receive calls on. There is something about paper I love. I had three book cases full of books and was ready to build a fourth when the wife made me put all them books into boxes.
We have both Sam's and BJ's Wholesale Club in this area. Pricing is simliar at both, so they do compete with each other and WalMart.
And the bible is simply made up.
Oh, I still have plenty of paper books. But I hope to sell off my library next year, including the bookcases.

Yup, and thats not all of them.....
The Walmart down here always has long lines so I don't go there much. I am sort of like the guy Yoggie Berra talked about when he said, "No one goes there anymore, its too crowded." That is how I feel about Walmart.

well calling the bible simply made up means you determined your personal opinion as fact.
the bible itself has historically been shown to be somewhat accurate, however many stories were over exaggerated or stretched out.
however you not believing in it does not make it fiction,it is religion and theology and thus belongs under such category.
Sounds like she's looking forward to moving!
I was using your definition of fiction. The stories and characters of the bible are made up, not just exaggerated. That people believe them as dogma notwithstanding.
well your not quite right there, much of the bible has been historically proven, but shown to have been over exagerated, which would be expected when most stories occured during the age of illiteracy,so they got passed down over and over until someone who could write wrote them.
they found sodom and its sister city,it was destroyed by fire and brimstone, however scientifically it appears to be from a volcano, the garden of eden was found as well.numerous other things were found written in the bible and other texts from other ancient religions of the region.
that doesnt make them fiction, but rather exaggerated truth.it is a belief system, science cant prove all of it,but much was true, and the rest id belief.the difference between fiction and beleif is one is not proven, but believed, while the other is fabricated for the intention of being false, mostly for entertainment purposes.
I believe your exact words were "religion never changes."
Would you like me to directly quote what you said with a post number? And then link the above statement? Because as it seems...it DID change. As a matter of fact...it seems you just attested to it.
A little tip. When trying to be a smartass...don't contradict yourself in your very next response.

How come nobody has answered me? Where do they stock the Koran or the Talmud?
And the bible is simply made up.
And we are all entitled to our beliefs.
Alright, fine. Religions change at a glacial rate. Is that better? They do not do so in response to the evidence, but when it becomes so absurd that they continue to ignore the evidence that they're forced to accept some small bit of reality.
It's still not making religion look good, sorry.
Entitled? No. It's just that nobody can stop you, no matter how absurd your beliefs are.

That's really not a belief Grant. But accepting the bible as reality is.

Actually anyone who is an American in this thread IS, by the very definition of the word, entitled to their religious beliefs. I'm pretty sure most countries would grant such freedoms too (if they are Western Nations).
Sorry, but they THINK they may had found the "garden of eden". There is no proof it actually is. Same for the cities.
Yes, the bible has exaggerations and some details based on history, but that doesn't make it any less a fictional book. I'm sorry but if anyone takes the bible literally as fact word for word, they are crazy IMO and no different then those that believe Zeus makes lightning.
