I happened upon this photo several years ago, and I've used it as my home screen image on 2 smartphones so far. It's a photo of Lake Baikal in Siberia during winter, when it's frozen. It's the world's 7th largest lake. It's also the oldest, and by far the deepest lake(over a mile deep). You could fit nearly 7 Delawares within it's 12,248 square miles of surface area. It's the world's largest lake by water volume, and it contains nearly 1/4 of the Earth's fresh surface water, which is more water than all of America's great lakes combined!
It's considered among the clearest fresh water bodies in the world. It's so big that it's got its own species of fresh water seals, of which the population is between 80,000 - 100,000 of them in the lake!
