Reagan is no doubt, not close and not even in depute is Americans greatest president.

Boston for instance is trying to rip off Lincolns halo as is the school district in Democrat held San Francisco.

But the Contract with America is the Republicans greatest ever gift to America.

.

The Contract with America was a legislative agenda advocated for by the United States Republican Party during the 1994 Congressional election campaign. Written by Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey, and in part using text from former President Ronald Reagan's 1985 State of the Union Address, the Contract detailed the actions the Republicans promised to take if they became the majority party in the United States House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years. Many of the Contract's policy ideas originated at The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.[1][2]

The Contract with America was introduced six weeks before the 1994 Congressional election, the first midterm election of President Bill Clinton's Administration, and was signed by all but two of the Republican members of the House and all of the Party's non-incumbent Republican Congressional candidates.

Proponents say the Contract was revolutionary in its commitment to offering specific legislation for a vote, describing in detail the precise plan of the Congressional Representatives, and broadly nationalizing the Congressional election. Furthermore, its provisions represented the view of many conservative Republicans on the issues of shrinking the size of government, promoting lower taxes and greater entrepreneurial activity, and both tort reform and welfare reform.

The 1994 elections resulted in Republicans gaining 54 House and 9 U.S. Senate seats, flipping both chambers. The Contract was seen as a triumph by party leaders such as Minority Whip Newt Gingrich, Dick Armey, and the American conservative movement in general.

They had us borrowing over a trillion a year in the "best economy ever" to fund tax cuts for the upper crust, which is a wonderful achievement if you hate your childrens' future. Meanwhile, they're only willing to borrow to throw a few crumbs to an economy near collapse, which is wonderful if you hate your own future.

Oh, and they permanently traumatized brown children by holding them but deporting their parents and not tracking them, which is a wonderful achievement if you hate brown people.

So...yay?

It was an effective political ploy.

...
Reagan is overrated. He ushered in the spend and borrow debt era. He watched idly as our cities crumbled, even helped bring crack cocaine into them. He destroyed labor, resulting in the massive wealth gap we see today between the few with capital and the masses who are average workers. He did nothing while AIDS ravaged the nation, and pretended to be bad ass by invading an island no one ever heard of. However, I can see why those less astute still see him as their hero. He wore a cowboy hat, after all.

Reagan started the downfall of middle class america. He was the president in the decade where greed was good. His first act to help america shut up those damn air traffic controllers who are warning the flying public there equipment is old and needs upgrading it's not safe to fly. So good old ex union man ronny threatens their jobs and starts the killing of unions in america. He also started the mass exit of our manufacturing base to cheaper labor sources, screw the american worker the people at the top need more.

The gop for the past forty years has been consistently the worst thing to happen to america.

No anti Reagan poster proved he did what they claimed other than Reagan fired the corrupt ATC employees who were given ample warning to go back to work.
