Give it to him before he does anything good, before he screws it up.

So he can lose and have another Jan 6.

Personally I like the idea, time was stolen from him, give him a chance to catch back up.

Better than him declaring martial law for WW III (2007).

If Sanders was handing over it would be for eight years.

Gotta keep the continuums congruent.
 
The 22nd Amendment of the Constitution states in part, “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”

The Rep. Andy Ogles (R/TN) resolution seeks to revise this to read, ”No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than three times.”

The process to promote, alter, or remove a Constitutional Amendment is a long and difficult process.

Will someone plz hand Ogles a disinfectant wipe for his nose?

As if we all didn't see this one coming from many miles down the track. Everyone with open eyes could see that a Trump election was bound to be a slow moving train wreck, and not a minute has been wasted. He went off the rails on inauguration day, and there's zero reason to suspect that he'll ever get on track as even so much as a normal person, let alone a normal president.

It is a bad idea and there will little to no support of this. I disagree that the rep should be removed. They are free to propose whatever and if Congress does their job stupid stuff will find its way to the trash bin.

Yes, I a respect your opinion on removing the rep. There just needs to be consequences for this type of idiocy. The GQP is infamous for their corruption and there needs to be a cost associated with that would scare them out of trying this kind of stupidity.

Both parties have proposed stupid stuff throughout the years, the cost to the Rep is they likely will carry little influence, not find their way on committees, etc. Politics is a club after all and if you do enough stupid stuff other members will just stop working with you. This eventually leads to having a hard time getting reelected.

I don't think Trump will be dead that soon, not my wishful thinking, I gave up wishing after I supported Kamala.

Trump not withstanding, I have always opposed term limits. I believe that if a president is popular and can be elected to more than two terms, it should be allowed. We were fortunate to have FDR from the Depression through WWII. Even though Trump is a disaster and will surely go down in history as our worst president ever, I support repealing the 22nd amendment. It does mean that Obama could be elected president again. That would be a great thing.

I've already agreed it would be a bad idea in another thread on the subject. Not because I dislike Trump, but because two terms are sufficient for a person to lead our nation. Then give someone else a shot.

I also agree with this. There should not be a problem with any Representative suggesting new law. After all, that is exactly what they have been elected to do, pass laws, create taxes, etc. That does not mean they will be successful.

I want transparency, otherwise how can we become "informed voters" if we pressure our Representatives to keep quiet?
 
Terrible idea. Barack Obama said it best. Nobody should be president for life.

Maybe this will get the ball rolling on ending 40+ year political careers that culminate in a president with dementia though.

Whatever we do about Trump, we should always remember that he was a US President.

US President gives you protection birth after birth, long after this planet and race are complete.
