Conservatives tried to hijack Juneteenth Day by claiming Republicans freed the slaves

And in the next breath they defend statues of 19th century Confederate Democrat traitors. Today's Democrats are trying to destroy the traitorous legacy of the Confederacy and Republicans are trying to glorify and preserve it and rename US bases in the name of 19th century Democrat Confederate traitors.

Maybe... just maybe... that's because today's Republicans are mainly Southern Democrats who became today's MAGA Republicans? Hence... the reason why MAGAts fly the Confederate flag.

That's not conspiracy, that's living, breathing historical fact.

I’m honestly surprised that Miller didn’t write an EO for Trump that cancelled the Juneteenth holiday. Juneteenth seems very DEI.

When Johnson shed the southern Democrats, the GOP immediately started taking their places. You ain't kidding anyone. Meanwhile you didn't say a word about the headline from a hundred and fifty years ago. Republicans free the slaves. Got anything a bit newer and positive that the GOP has done for the human race

Of course, when you are seeing your party flounder and have such fear that all will soon be lost, I suppose this sort of desperate style is about all you have left, eh?

As I have repeatedly written over the past few weeks or so, we Independents are soon going to pick up the pieces and y'all can join with us. But leave that nasty stuff in your garbage bin, please. Oh yes, you can leave that desperate history stuff in the garbage bin, too.

Sure, and all that's cool if one ignores the changes to political party demographics and ideology over the course of history. I guess if your theory were accurate the GOP should still be considered the party of the rich and corporations, right?
 
The really funny thing is MAGA is just the resurrection of the old Dixiecrats.

Well, Juneteenth is a holiday about freeing the slaves is it not?!?
 
June 19th was the 160th anniversary of when Texas received word the Civil War was over, and the slaves freed.

It was the push by the republicans, and a republican president why the slaves were freed.
