This is so much more painless than conservation, ending sprawl, and giving citizens real alternative transportation.

Oh no, everything is so fracked up well, frack it, please god please!

Un huh, just like the dumb arse woman in kentucky who thought god would protect her from the rattle snake's lethality - the same would go towards these frackers who think that praying will do shat.

I believe that is an unfair criticism of this forum and the people who comprise it. As with any large forum, the variety of material will be diverse and participants will have a varying degree of knowledge/information.

Scanning the various forums, one finds a range of timely discussions on such topics as Campaign 2008, Middle East peace, Iran, oil prices, the general state of the U.S. economy, climate change, etc. One has ample opportunity to participate in any one of the myriad discussions. If one would like to raise points or subject matter that is not found in any of the discussions, one can also initiate new threads.

One can even introduce new angles into existing threads e.g., in this thread one could raise the notion that public prayer sessions during difficult times, even if one does not have religious faith, have utility in that they offer a sense of psychological comfort to some people. Such comfort can improve one's ability to cope with difficulty and the quality of one's decisionmaking (there is much academic and medical research that decisionmaking under stress can be suboptimal).

All said, I have to disagree with your assessment of this forum.​
 
Hey, prayer is cheap, easy, appeals to the constituents, and is as effective a way to make the public think they are doing something as any of the other non-efforts the govt. is making.
And if they get rain, he probably gets re-elected.

Why do I have a difficult time believing that someone who goes by "Master Debater" is really interested in intelligent conversation...
