Screw these corps who don't want to post salaries. What a jerk move to subvert this Colorado law. Make it national.

Many job advertisements for remote work are now coming with an asterisk: Coloradans need not apply.
“Please Note: Job cannot be performed in the state of Colorado,” reads an active online advertisement for a remote sales solution architect at Concentrix. Disclaimers like that are becoming more common now after a Colorado law requiring employers to disclose salary ranges went into effect earlier this year.

Can anyone give me a reason why a company is unwilling to disclose salary ranges? I'm guessing something like they don't want competitors to outbid them for employees, but am unsure.

Imagine how many thousands of opportunities are now gone because of this stupid, unnecessary law. Lost opportunities are a cost, and a big one at that, so we now have government doing what it does best - making everyone poorer and worse off.

Don't pretend you had any kind of opinion on this until you saw that I was opposed. Reactive cons.

It will be up to Colorado to determine if the benefits of the law are worth the job opportunities it's citizens will miss out on becauae of their law.

people should know what salaries are being tossed around ....... to make the best decision.

I think this law actually cuts down on lying scammers posting bullshit jobs to pad their site's listings to boost their Google search ratings.

Like I said it's up to the people of Colorado to determine if this law helps or hurts those seeking employment.

I was on a legal seminar today where they were talking about this, interesting thing...

One would expect a real libertarian to love the ideal of free information to inform the buyer and seller... Why isn't it more efficient for employees to know the real salary ranges for a position being offered?

WHAT IS THE COLORADO LAW'S PURPOSE?

When an applicant calls the company he/she can ask what
the salary is.

Upon being hired the employee would sign an agreement
to work for a set salary.

If there is no such agreement on paper and the company
chooses to underpay the employee then the employee can
immediately quit. I doubt that this occurs with any frequency.

I don't see how the Colorado employee benefits from this law.

What is the purpose? Openness and truth in advertising.

Who cares? What we know for sure is that this stupid law is harming employers seeking remote workers by reducing the pool of potential employees, and it's harming workers who live in Colorado looking to work remotely.

It's a lose/lose situation created entirely by government.

Make the law nationwide. Problem solved.

Go woke, go broke.

Lol, typical leftist. When your ideas fail, it just means you didn't go big enough.
Lol, typical con. Doesn't know where they stand on anything until a leftist speaks first.

TRANSPARENCY

Implementing transparency is generally a good action.

In this case however, I don't see it as being very helpful
even if it were to be federally implemented nationwide.

I suppose that it wouldn't be harmful either.
