Communism --- An Inquiry

Once again, you're just repeating the same arguments that I already refuted. "Communism" doesn't kill people. "Communism" doesn't cause economic policy. Policy enacted by government is what has economic and political consequences. The fact that you fail to understand that, and also fail to be more specific about your assertions, clearly shows that you don't know what you're talking about.

Okay, fine. Whatever. Marxism had absolutely no influence on the USSR or Mao's China or the Khmer Rouge or Castro's Cuba. You're absolutely right. These were just the exceptions to the rule, huh?

I'm done, I'm getting dizzy arguing in circles. If we can't agree that Marxism was the starting point of these regimes, then we have nothing to debate.

There have been Lennist countries, Stalinist countries, and Maoist countries. There has never been a communist country...

No there haven't, because bureaucracies do not adhere to monolithic ideologies. Bureaucracies are probably the most unideological forms of organization because they don't have to appeal to popular opinion or realpolitik.

Marxism had absolutely no influence on the USSR or Mao's China or the Khmer Rouge or Castro's Cuba. You're absolutely right.

Good job trolling instead of responding to my inquiries, I guess that proves my point that you can't get more specific about your argument and shows it holds no water.

I'm done, I'm getting dizzy arguing in circles.

We haven't argued in a single circle. You made a claim, I countered it and then requested you to get more specific, at which point you bowed out because you couldn't do so.

If we can't agree that Marxism was the starting point of these regimes, then we have nothing to debate.

Perhaps you could explain what you mean by "Marxism" and how it was the "starting point". Further, you could also address my question regarding overfertilization in the DPRK or the fact that there was no famine in Tito's Jugoslavia.

Okay so you can't address it, because that link has absolutely nothing to do with the question posed. My question was: how is overfertilization in the DPRK due to "Marxism"?

Let's hear it, in your own words, how it was caused by "Marxism".

I'm creating an argumentative essay against communism. Right now I'm gathering info on this issue. This thread is for gathering info on both sides of the issue; after the exploratory threads there will be successive, revised arguments against communism complete with counter-arguments. There will probably be a reference list, if you must have one. I have a few simple questions to probe this issue:

1. What is communism? There are many kinds of communism:

2. Is it flawed?

3. Is communism evil? Or the people evil? Is any part of communism evil?

4. Why has there been so much bloodshed? Why so many bloody revolutions? Why does it keep happening?

5. I the theory of communism itself blameless?

6. What are some good arguments for and against communism? (I'll be adding your points and give my own perspective and questions while also connecting these points in a smooth manner. PLEASE include a counter-argument if you would; that would be great.

7. How does communism affect society, human nature, etc? We know people have died, but I also want you to elaborate on the other aspects of communism.

*I'll be adding a Table of Contents, and add in citations from various sources. I'll probably be adding in successive, deep questions on this issue. This will be a comprehensive and expanding issue.

Communism is the silly ramblings of Karl Marx...
