My proposal is the following arrangement:

Top Tier Committee (singular)

Next would be the following three groups:

Upper Tier Committees / Middle Tier Committees / Lower Tier Committees

WHY?

It has been wonderful to see all the fine well-wishers post the congrats for the twenty years of this platform/community being around, but isn't it about time some sort of concrete action were to be started.

Are you folks interested in simply another twenty years of banter?

Yes, there may be some action that has developed outside of this community because of ideas picked up within this community, BUT some answers to some problems are going to require some drastic changes.

Yes, I understand that maybe 90% of you only want to engage in discussion and are not interested in actually trying to take action(s). Many have jobs and no time for anything except discussion. Many fear the taking of action.

BUT there just might be a few folks that wouldn't mind an attempt at some sort of action, and for those I propose that a form of organization would be helpful. This site is a sort of conference room. Yes, at present a conference room that a "Guest" can view and a search engine can vacuum up information, this post, for example --- so a different sort of conference room. The true Net conference room. And what is really good is we have the best of the best of naysayers here that can throw the best of the best shite and mud at us for even considering doing something other than just discussion. We have professional mudslingers here, so it can help those who don't have thick skins.

What kind of 'action' you talkin' about, Slick?

One idea that came to me was during an exchange with one of our members about the U.S. federal tax code.

Rewriting the tax code for any nation would be a difficult undertaking and it could be there are a few other members that may be able to help. And it could be better coordinated in a format such as a committee and proper record keeping is similarly coordinated.

I have also seen the view posted by a number of community members that some Net companies are becoming excessive in certain areas, but we have yet to see any attempt to document what some might view as excessive, so that might also benefit from some form of organization, such as noted above with regard to the U.S. federal tax code.

All a matter of being organized.

Well, maybe. Just a thought. Could all be totally useless brain wandering inside a stupid old man's brain --- mine.
