Newly released texts, ( the release of which was held up as long as possible by the DOJ ) , reveal that the FBI's lead investigator in the "Russia Collusion" probe , routinely leaked to the media information to damage Pres. Trump, as part of the "strategy" at the insanely corrupt FBI leadership, and the entire Witch Hunt. More exposed CORRUPTION and LIES about the entire "Russia Lie", are a near daily occurrence, anymore.

Collusion: New Texts Show FBI Officials Had Media Leak Strategy To Hurt Trump During Russia Probe

Well, well, well—what do we have here; FBI officials discussing a media leak strategy during the Trump-Russia investigation, specifically when key developments are about to be revealed to the public. The new batch of texts was released by Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), where disgraced former FBI Agent Peter Strzok and lawyer Lisa Page communicate about a possible media leak strategy between FBI and DOJ officials between April 10 and 12 of 2017. The Daily Caller has more:

“Our review of these new documents raises grave concerns regarding an apparent systemic culture of media leaking by high-ranking officials at the FBI and DOJ related to ongoing investigations,” Meadows wrote to U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in the letter, which was obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation and first reported by Sara Carter.

Meadows pointed to text messages Strzok sent to Page on April 10, 2017, and April 12, 2017.

In the first message, Strzok, who then served as deputy chief of the FBI’s counterintelligence division, wrote to Page that: “I had literally just gone to find this phone to tell you I want to talk to you about media leak strategy with DOJ before you go.”

Strzok was at that time the lead investigator on the FBI’s probe into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government. He joined the special counsel’s investigation after it was formed in May 2017. He was removed from the investigation in July 2017 after the discovery of anti-Trump text messages that he exchanged with Lisa Page. He was fired from the FBI on Aug. 10.

In one Aug. 8, 2016, message, Strzok told Page that President Donald Trump would never become president, because “We’ll stop it.”

Meadows says in his letter that an April 12, 2017, text message shows Strzok congratulating Page while referring to two damaging articles about former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Meadows wrote that “in the text, Strzok warns Page two articles are coming out, one which is ‘worse’ than the other about Lisa’s ‘namesake.'”

“Well done, Page,” Strzok wrote. It is unclear if he was referring to Lisa Page or Carter Page.

The text messages were included in a batch of records recently provided to Congress

Question: How does this even make the President look bad????

Question: How does this even make the President look bad????

It was leaking that one of his associates was "being investigated for Russian collusion"...when the Swamp was getting ready to expand the Witch Hunt.

Or are you seriously trying to pretend that the Obama Swamp KGB-FBI/DOJ ILLEGAL FISA WARRANTS on Carter Page were NOT to "GET TRUMP"?

If it was leaked that the associate was being investigated, then that hurts the FBI, not the President!

Doesn't matter. Trump is still likely guilty as hell. That's all that matters.

Question: How does this even make the President look bad????

It doesn't make Trump look bad...it confirms the corrupt Obama administration's attempt to work against Trump.

I think your question should be, how was this tactic used in their opposition to Trump.

Here is the answer:

As details and documents are pried from the grip of FBI officials intent on hiding the institutional malfeasance, one corrupt issue has become increasingly clear. The FBI and DOJ intentionally leaked information to the media and then cited the subsequent media reports for their ongoing investigative purposes.

Within this circular approach journalists became “sources” and media reports became “methods”. Thus, the FBI and DOJ are desperate to protect “sources and methods” because behind the familiar catch-phrase is an outline of procedural corruption. ie: “by the book“.

Representative Mark Meadows (R-NC) is one of the congressional investigators who, with greater document release, is beginning to outline this approach.

In a letter today to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein (full pdf below) Mr. Meadows points to new discoveries of how FBI Lawyer Lisa Page and FBI Agent Peter Strzok were using leaks to the media in April 2017 to further the aim of eliminating President Trump.

https://theconservativetreehouse.co...ources-journalists-and-methods-media-reports/

But this isn't anything new. The same "sources and methods" scheme involving leaks to the media was used in the initial Page FISA application in 2016.

What's new is this current release to Congress of Strzok/Page texts that TALK about the scheme.

Are you telling me that the FBI didn't want someone who was being investigated to know that they were being investigated so that they could cover up crimes??? SHOCKING!!!!!!

No. I'm not telling you that.

The truth doesn’t hurt Trump. It’s the DNC/MSM crowd who are spinning the lies the left is dying to believe.

And when one lie falls, the DNC/MSM farts out another one like oxy for TDS’ers.

Yawn. Utter bull**** and already addressed in the congressional hearings. There is nothing new here, other than Donnie Twumpo trying to spin a new conspiracy theory.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...-theory/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.cfc4537ca289

They were talking about combating leaks, not creating them.

Duh.

I find it entertaining that the infrastructure used to spy on the citizenry is ultimately causing government in-fighting.

Later text messages have come out suggesting Strzok was indeed tasked with such duties

What later text messages? For some reason, WaPo says this...and doesn't follow through with these later messages. Sounds like a lying red herring to me.

In any case, previous texts between those two talk explicitly about dealing with media figures. For example:

These texts were sent right about the time the media started talking about Weiner's laptop.

page-strzok-text-hillary-1.webp

And who is "Devlin"? He's this guy:

strzok-barrett-page.webp

And what a coincidence...when the texts were being sent in April 2017, guess who broke the story about Carter Page...

Yep...

devlin-barrett-wapo.webp

But now, WaPo wants us to believe Strzok and Page...both good friends with "Devlin"...were actually trying to stop leaks to the media. Uh-huh.

Anyway, I suspect the DOJ/FBI already know the facts. What we have here is Congress trying to pry those facts out of the DOJ/FBI and get them to the public. You can expect more facts to be released...and, of course, more from the media trying to deflect those facts. I don't think it's going to work.

The bolded part is something that should concern everyone. What if this is common practice by the FBI. I is it common practice for the FBI to leak things to the media and then use the articles as a secondary source on warrants? They may be inadvertently exposing a bigger problem in our justice system than just the persecution of Trump. I doubt this is the first time something like this was done to someone.

This very thing has been claimed...by none other than a FBI intelligence analyst.

A Republican congressman touched off a firestorm Tuesday after claiming on Twitter that his office had information suggesting the FBI leaked information to the press and used the resulting articles to help obtain surveillance warrants.

"We've learned NEW information suggesting our suspicions are true: FBI/DOJ have previously leaked info to the press, and then used those same press stories as a separate source to justify FISA's," House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows, R-N.C., tweeted overnight.

The claim stemmed in part from FBI intelligence analyst Jonathan Moffa’s Friday testimony behind closed doors before the House Judiciary and Oversight committees.

But what exactly Moffa told the committees is a matter of dispute.

A source with knowledge of the testimony initially told Fox News that Moffa said FBI personnel would use media reports based on information they leaked to justify applications for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants, echoing Meadows. The source said Moffa, who worked with controversial former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, acknowledged this “had been a practice in the past.”

But an FBI official pushed back, telling Fox News the initial claims about Moffa’s testimony were incorrect.

The source later clarified that Moffa testified the FBI routinely uses media material to corroborate their work product, including FISA materials, but “never said directly 'we utilize FBI leaks for FISAs.'” The source maintained, however, that the FBI has a “culture of leaking for their own gain” and uses media reports to support their work: “There's quite a bit of evidence raising concerns that the FBI engages in this without Moffa saying it."

There's no credible evidence that they were trying to do anything but that except in your imagination.

The only problem being they took no such actions and criticized dems like Clinton in equal measure.
