Probably not going to get much traction on a male-dominated forum, but Colleen Hoover (or CoHo) is very polarizing. One of her most famous books It Ends With Us has been made into a film and comes out this summer.

As I read more of her books, I noticed the pattern other people were pointing out. Here's more about it if you're interested:

Her romance novels (which are most of them) always seem to have the main characters in a relationship that isn't healthy. And some of her books are just really, really bad. As if they were written by a 14 year old. I stopped reading her stuff after awhile. There is one Colleen Hoover book, however, that I LOVED and most definitely will be a movie at some point --

If you love psychological thrillers (with a toxic relationship and a lot of spice), you'll probably love it.

Never heard of her.
Skimming through the article, it seems like people want to cancel her. Silence her.
I would not support that. If she is to be "canceled" it should be the market that does it.
It does make you wonder why does all of her books center around domestic violence, toxic relationships and abuse.
And do so, apparently, in a manner that excuses and or even glorifies it.

There is a condition that very few women have where they are actually aroused by the idea of being abused/raped.
Perhaps she is one of those women with that mental illness.
:dunno:

Never heard of her but CoHo makes me think of salmon

Just finished this one. It's good, if predictable. Jodi Picoult is a better writer.
