As a result of a lawsuit against Nasser Kazeminy, a close friend and associate of Norm Coleman, the FBI has gotten involved. While Coleman and his wife are not named in the lawsuit, the FBI wants to know about money from Kazeminy's company in Texas, that was apparently laundered and funneled into Norm Coleman's campaign through Hayes Companies in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The connection? No work was done, and Coleman's wife is an officer at Hayes. Right now, the FBI focus seems to be on 2 questions:
1) Was the money received by Coleman?
2) Was it reported by Coleman.
The answer to question number 2 is no, so if Coleman did receive the money, then he committed a felony, and will be indicted, like Stevens was in Alaska.
