Interesting, thanks for the reply. That sounds like a healthy population of fish.Yes, they were the fresh water salmon, Kokanee. The salmon spawn in E. Idaho started at the end of August and goes through September. I just wonder what happens to all the dead salmon after spawning because there were thousands of them...too many for hawks, eagles and bears to eat.
I think after death they rot and breakdown, providing nutrients to plants and microorganisms. My dog has rolled in them. P.U.
