Way to go Jim! Let's see this go to court!

Good luck. being on the presidential press is a privilege not a right.
CNN can appoint someone else. they will lose this case.

He hasn't revoked CNN's ability to be there which they might have a case he has only revoke that
slim ball ascosta.

hopefully CNN would pick someone with a bit more mannerisms and a bit more professional courtesy when
dealing with the administration staff.

I mean hell obama wanted to blanket ban fox news for asking him hard questions.
he was even looking into doing it.

My guess is they won't win.

The only interesting wrinkle here is that it's our government, our public institution for which the press is partially responsible for reporting on.
I just feel that if they can put someone else there, no harm no foul. If SS says he's security concern, but someone else from CNN is allowed...I don't know if the court will second-guess them.

It was definitely a dick move by POTUS, but not every horrible thing he does and says is illegal. Unethical, immoral, tragic, sad, pathetic, deplorable, sure, but not *always* illegal

Actually, false.

from the article in the op

I think any Trump supporter attacking CNN for mannerisms and professional attitude is laughable at best.

Even slimeballs have constitutional rights. Abridging his would have a chilling effect on the other reporters, which is probably a part of Trump's motivation. He wants a nice compliant press. Not a free press.

Have you got a linc documenting the bolded part?

Precedence aside--which, as noted in my post above, does not favor the president at all--it could be argued that suspending or banning Acosta is a shot across the bow warning other reporters to not ask tough questions. And, that would clearly be unconstitutional.

Had a feeling this was coming, Trump and his Administration need to face this sort of thing.

Not at all. CNN has proven itself to be complete nonobjective when it comes to the president.
in fact they have pretty much lost any and all credibility that they had (not that it was that much to begin with).

Acosta doesn't have a right to the press pass. CNN can appoint someone else.
if they choose not to then that is their issue.

It does seem like a similar case had come up before and the courts at that time came down in favor of the press. Trump seemingly has an inability to accept anyone who goes against him and always seeks to punish them. It's bad precedent to have for the President to strip away credentials from press he doesn't like because they ask questions he doesn't like.

But more to the point of my post. Trump has behaved so poorly, childishly, rudely, aggressively, abrasively, with complete lack of manners and decorum that anyone who backs and supports him have no credibility in claiming poor behavior in others.

bah BS. presidents have always done this. this isn't anything new. it goes all the way back to FDR and even further back.
there has always been a bit of a war between the president and the press.

The fact is that acosta was 100% out of line in that press meeting.

Trump is now entering the beginning of 2 years of pure hell. Stay tuned and watch what America can and will do to a wannabe dictator. It won't be pretty.

Presidents have not always done this. This is a complete break from tradition and precedent.

There's even two court cases already established that set this precedent. So despite those who endorse behaving badly crying about how this is bad behavior, Acosta's behavior did not pose a threat to the President, and that is the key of the established "narrow and specific standards" applied today.

And it's yet another Trump lie, as he claimed he wouldn't kick out members of the press, and here he is kicking out members of the press. Though Trump lying is nothing new.

It seems like with every case like this, the lefties take their orders from the 1984 play book.

Acosta was removed for making physical contact with a staffer, and the lefties try to change reality by repeating over and over again that he was removed for asking tough questions.

Even you say it a lot, nobody is going to believe it.

According to who?
obama warred with the press
bush warred with the press
Reagan did the same thing.

just a bit of history.

The fact is that CNN can appoint someone else. the press badges are not a right.
as long as CNN has the ability to appoint someone then there is no violation.

acosta pushed an intern that could have been considered assault on a staff member.

Didn't see anything there about Presidents yanking Press credentials. The closest to it was Nixon, and he was impeached. So while some Presidents may have had issue with the Press, none that you cited have done what Trump has done here.

Just a bit of history.

Fact is the acosta was out of line and shoved an intern trying to take the mic from him.
that is proof that he cannot handle himself in a manner. I would have revoked his pass as well.

there is nothing against the law or illegal about it.

CNN can appoint someone else that will act with a bit more professionalism.
if they can't then CNN is just the POS we always knew they were.

He wasn't shoving an intern, sorry. And there's court precedent against what Trump has done here.

Just a bit of history.

The case being cited involved a journalist who was denied White House credentials. Acosta’s were revoked for bad behavior in the gallery so I have doubts about how useful that case will prove to be here.
