CNN is filing a lawsuit against President Trump and several of his aides, seeking the immediate restoration of chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta's access to the White House.
The lawsuit is a response to the White House's suspension of Acosta's press pass, known as a Secret Service "hard pass," last week. The suit alleges that Acosta and CNN's First and Fifth Amendment rights are being violated by the ban.

Good luck. being on the presidential press is a privilege not a right.
CNN can appoint someone else. they will lose this case.
He hasn't revoked CNN's ability to be there which they might have a case he has only revoke that
slim ball ascosta.
hopefully CNN would pick someone with a bit more mannerisms and a bit more professional courtesy when

Eleven years later, a D.C. Court of Appeals judge ruled that the Secret Service had to establish "narrow and specific" standards for judging applicants. In practice, the key question is whether the applicant would pose a threat to the president.

My guess is they won't win.
The only interesting wrinkle here is that it's our government, our public institution for which the press is partially responsible for reporting on.
I just feel that if they can put someone else there, no harm no foul. If SS says he's security concern, but someone else from CNN is allowed...I don't know if the court will second-guess them.
It was definitely a dick move by POTUS, but not every horrible thing he does and says is illegal. Unethical, immoral, tragic, sad, pathetic, deplorable, sure, but not *always* illegal

Not at all. CNN has proven itself to be complete nonobjective when it comes to the president.
in fact they have pretty much lost any and all credibility that they had (not that it was that much to begin with).
Acosta doesn't have a right to the press pass. CNN can appoint someone else.
if they choose not to then that is their issue.

It does seem like a similar case had come up before and the courts at that time came down in favor of the press. Trump seemingly has an inability to accept anyone who goes against him and always seeks to punish them. It's bad precedent to have for the President to strip away credentials from press he doesn't like because they ask questions he doesn't like.
But more to the point of my post. Trump has behaved so poorly, childishly, rudely, aggressively, abrasively, with complete lack of manners and decorum that anyone who backs and supports him have no credibility in claiming poor behavior in others.

During his presidential campaign, Trump told CNN that, if elected, he would not kick reporters out of the White House. But since moving into the White House, he has mused privately about taking away credentials, CNN reported earlier this year. He brought it up publicly on Twitter in May, tweeting "take away credentials?" as a question.
And he said it again on Friday, two days after blacklisting Acosta. "It could be others also," he said, suggesting he may strip press passes from other reporters. Unprompted, he then named and insulted April Ryan, a CNN analyst and veteran radio correspondent.
Trump's threats fly in the face of decades of tradition and precedent. Republican and Democratic administrations alike have had a permissive approach toward press passes, erring on the side of greater access, even for obscure, partisan or fringe outlets.
That is one of the reasons why First Amendment attorneys say CNN and Acosta have a strong case.

Presidents have not always done this. This is a complete break from tradition and precedent.
There's even two court cases already established that set this precedent. So despite those who endorse behaving badly crying about how this is bad behavior, Acosta's behavior did not pose a threat to the President, and that is the key of the established "narrow and specific standards" applied today.
And it's yet another Trump lie, as he claimed he wouldn't kick out members of the press, and here he is kicking out members of the press. Though Trump lying is nothing new.

Didn't see anything there about Presidents yanking Press credentials. The closest to it was Nixon, and he was impeached. So while some Presidents may have had issue with the Press, none that you cited have done what Trump has done here.
