CNN CEO Chris Licht (tried to turn CNN into fox) has ceded control of business operations to David Leavy

Bye, Bye, CNN.

Couldn't see that coming
and then there's this...

All he had to do was bring Trump on and let the fatass hang himself, and let a regular audience mix into the room, composed of the same ratio of political leanings as the country itself.
No admonitions against boos, no "applause only" limitations, just a microcosm of America reacting the way a microcosm is going to react, and find a host who knows how to deal with Trump.
I guess that was too much to ask.

I don't think that Edward Smith behaved in a dishonorable way. If you do, get on a boat, stay there long enough, and eventually, you'll probably be in the same situation.

As for CNN's CEwhatever, idgaf. In general, upper management seems mostly to exist to feast at the expense of the servers. My guess is that most workers would prefer upper management to **** off to their offices and become invisible.

Not sure what happens next for CNN. Licht was obviously in way over his head. I refuse to believe he was so stuuuupid as to not see what his producer, director, floor manager and even the wardrobe consultant had "staged" in New Hampshire. When you have gotten even the wardrobe consultant on board, either everybody misunderstood your intentions to some extent or everybody understand your intentions COMPLETELY.

Licht's post Town Hall comments probably sealed his fate, not so much because they were off the mark but because they were very much on the mark and simply exposed Licht as ill matched to CNN.

I don't know what CNN is going to do. Whatever it is, they are better off without Licht. About the only thing he did right was getting rid of Don Lemon who simply has no recognizable talent.

To date, the big 3 of Cable News are all playing musical chairs with their hosts, their anchors, new sets, all kinds of crap going on. I am myself less than impressed with CNN's new "News Central" formate. I don't need to see any of them standing there looking uncomfortable in front of the camera. Put them back behind their security blanket, THE DESK.

None of that solves the basic ratings issues all three of the big three are having and that in reality all of 24/7 cable news has always had. That being only about maybe 3-4 hours of actual worthwhile news worthy of national coverage in any 24 hour period leaving 20 hours of airtime to fill without benefit of being able to run 8 hours of buy direct vacuum cleaner ads.

I said from the day of the town hall, it was a huge mistake. I'm surprised it took this long to make a change after that mess.

I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way I did about this new format. The first time I saw them shuffling around the stage, I wondered what the hell are they trying to prove with this? I want to see news, not a dance.

Has CNN discovered that their hosts and anchors are all frustrated weather forecasters?

And.....

Yes whenever two of them get close enough together I fully expect them to break out into a waltz.

Re-arraigning the deck chairs on the Titanic.
It's worth noting that Fox News has not removed any executives after their leadership resulted in a 9-figure settlement because the network repeatedly aired known lies in service to a coup attempt.

The differences between real news and Fox is vast.

Aaaaaand he's out. Good riddance.

While Trump is perfectly capable of being nauseating all on his own, Licht was like, "Hey, let's make this town hall quadruply nauseating for no discernible reason whatsoever."
