Clinton launches presidential bid

This is how it is going to go down:
  • Clinton is the most qualified of all the candidates out there (with the possible exception of Gore) to run the country
  • She would be an even better President than her husband was (due to the intelligence factor: she's smarter than Bill and was probably running the country all along back then while he took the credit!)
  • Republicans are waiting for their candidates to post bail
  • Obama is a good orator, but has done absolutely nothing on a national scale (he's still a newbie)
  • Clinton will win with Obama becoming her Vice-President
We had 8 great years the last time a Clinton was in the White House. But the way conservatives around here that only watch from a specialized feed known as Stingervision, say Clinton's years of prosperity during his Administration was due to the previous one. I wonder what they will say, when Hillary turns around this deadend train heading for the destruction of the American way, around? What will they say then? Because if we become respected around the world (again) under the Clinton II Presidency, the last thing you could say was it was due to the Bush Administration.

I was being facetious on that one.

In all likelyhood, if the Democrats don't start doing what they were elected to do in this past election, which is start Senate level hearings on the conduct and actions of the current Adminstration, I will be voting Republican in '08.

And the only reason for that would be, not because I like Republicans, but because I will so angry at the Democrats for letting us down when they had the chance to make a difference.

Now CurrentAffairs might have you think he is the one to thank...

I so hope you are right. I think that Hillary would be a great president. But, I oppose her candidacy. The Republicans have won this round of political tactics, and made her unelectable.

I have decided I will likely support Obama. Inexperienced but Charismatic.
 

ME TOO, Dezaad! I still want to learn more about him before making my final decision. I really like Chris Dodd, but I don't think he is winnable. Obama has this way about him that is just so impressive. Everyone thought that HW would get a 2nd term, but Bill Clinton came out and charmed people like nobody's business. Obama has a similar way about him. Let's watch and see what happens.

Concerning Hillary (the topic of the thread), She has many of the same views as Obama, and is equally intelligent. However, the reasons she would not be good for this country is that she has become too divisive. I do not believe that she is deserving of this status, but it remains the truth nevertheless. For this reason, it is unlikely that I could vote for her over the Republican candidates so far. However, due to the influence of the religious right, I am not at all comfortable voting for any Republican candidate, but this will remain to be seen. If the Republican can make it to the nomination, and through the election without making promises to the religious right, I would almost certainly vote for the Republican over Hillary. To be clear, it is unlikely that I will vote for any candidate that the religious right is comfortable with.

I am ambiguous because so much is still up in the air.

Based on Navy's demonstrated talent for predicting American politics, I'd say that this post is a great sign for Clinton.

Now if she can only get Pride to predict that she'll lose the election, it'll be a lock.

The "devisive" thing is probably as much a product of the conservative machine as reality. Anyone the Dems put up will be devisive to them. I agree Clinton will be devisive to many Republicans, and not a few simply because she is a woman.

But she has show her ability to work with Repubicans in the Senate. I think she could as president. The "devisive" is mostly a Republican tactic to derail her canidacy. They did the same to Dean, and Kerry, and whoever the Dems put up.

So **** 'em. I almost want Clinton just because it will make some of them (included a few here) apoplectic.
