Earlier this week, Hillary Clinton harshly criticized three countries for directly funding terrorists who are actively seeking to attack the United States and Western Europe. The governments of this trio of nations have contributed between $16 million and $40 million to the Clinton Foundation.

So...they donated money to the Clinton foundation, but she STILL harshly criticized them? Seems to me that that's proof that she does NOT allow money to influence her actions and positions! Otherwise, she would've defended them, huh?

Words are wind.
Not my point.Any serious student of history soon learns that words - whether written or only spoken - are crucial, and set the stage for peace or for war. For every failure of diplomacy over the centuries, there's many successes that not only prevented war, but led to progress and great profit for one or both parties involved.
For instance, look at the recent Iran nuclear deal - most people on the right think it's an abject failure, right? Yes, they do. But it was just announced yesterday that Iran was spending $25B dollars on about 100 new Boeing jetliners...which means thousands more jobs here in America...
...and anyone who thinks that particular deal wasn't part of the under-the-table negotiations for the Iran nuclear deal needs to check their own level of naivete.
They also took millions of dollars given by Donald J Trump. Yes, that one.
I haven't heard where Trump is planning on bombing the Saudis, so you will vote for the guy who won't change this.
These are bad guys.....unless the Clintons can make some money off of them.
Not my point.
My point was, there's what politicians say (aka bull****) and what they do. They almost never match. Clinton is no different. Bottom line? These countries are going to expect a return on investment, just as any campaign doner, large or small, does.

Actually, you're close to 180 off. Politicians generally do NOT say one thing and then go do the opposite. What they do is to say what they WANT to make happen, and they generally DO try to make those things happen...
...but then the sausage-making process that we call "politics" gets in the way. Obama's declaration of his intent to close Gitmo is a great example - he said he would close it, he tried to make it happen...but the Republicans have thwarted his every effort to make it happen. The lesson is, just because a politician's unable to follow through with a campaign promise doesn't mean that his words were empty - it means that he didn't have the degree of power or influence to make it happen.

How do I apply for a job at that foundation? :2razz:
Or that the politician in question is pandering for votes?
