  • Continue to investigate

Gist of the Story: a parish member, Todd Zureick, filed a complaint related to a priest (Father Bachman) possibly watching Porn on a church computer. As an added note, it seems a few years ago, a woman conned Father Bachman out of $58,000 and threatened to expose prurient information on him.

Archbishop Robert Casey, after a supposed comprehensive investigation, has cleared Father Bachman of engaging in any kind of reprehensible behavior. He has implored Church members to stop spreading rumors and besmirching the Good Reputation of Father Bachman. Also, by chance (wink wink), certainly not related to any current controversy, Father Bachman leaves for a preplanned Sabbatical next month.

My Take: Neither the Church, Archbishop Robert Casey nor Father Bachman enjoy a Good Reputation. The Church continues to use their Old Playbook: Deny, Deny, Deny, Lie, Lie, Lie. Seek plausible deniability at every opportunity.

What do you think? Has the Archbishop put out the fire?

I have bigger fish to fry.

Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?

Sounds like the police policing themselves and everything is fine, move along.

Can't wait to see the hundreds of responses from the god folks.

The Archdiocese investigated and found nothing to substantiate the rumors. Local law enforcement confirmed there is no evidence whatsoever to substantiate them. Case closed. If there is any further need for investigation it’s to find out who is responsible for these defamatory accusations. Likely the same person who defrauded him of $58,000.
