I would like to direct your attention to this snippet from Mr. Anderson's opening statement —


On the day above, Russian naval forces committed piracy on the high seas. 24 Ukrainian sailors would be held in a Russian prison for 10 months. Three Ukraine Navy boats are still in Russian waters despite an order on May 25, 2019 by the United Nation's International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) that Russia must release the sailors and vessels immediately. That didn't happen. The 24 sailors were swapped on September 7, 2019 and the 3 boats remain in Russian custody.

The Trump administration refused to publicly condemn this. As always, protecting the Putin regime from any criticism and condoning such criminality via its determined silence.

Vote this dictator-loving administration out of office on 3 November 2020.

Yes. Yet another instance (recounted by a State Dept diplomat) where Trump protected the Putin regime.

It's another example of the man's giant blindspot in regards to Russia and Putin, as well as his personal grievances against Ukraine. It' sad, it's outrageous, but for Ukraine supporters there is a small light at the end of the tunnel: Trump will lose in one year, and Congress will be overwhelming Democratic.

Of course, if the "Obama" progressive view dominates it won't be much better if not WORSE for that country. At least Trump approved the Javelin, while Obama stuck to "defensive" and non-lethal items only (e.g. bandages and blankets).
While Trumps refusal to criticize Putin for this particular action is reprehensible, criticism is both cheap and without teeth.​

Ukraine needs weapons and substantial military support. And until there is a President that has the guts to stand up to the Russians with more than nasty letters of protest, with REAL military aid, Ukraine will continue to be on the torture rack of Putin's design.

We all know that Trump is the best thing to ever happen to Putin.

With Trump, all roads lead to Russia.

No. This isn’t like Republicans publicly stating that the purpose of the Benghazi hearings was to damage Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Hmm, I'm not really sure that it's the place of a State Department staffer to promote their personal agenda in complete disregard and in direct contradiction of the President's position.

Completely agree. The President's allegiance to Russia should at all times be recognized.

I don't think that Trump holds any allegiance to Russia. I also didn't believe that Obama held any allegiance to Islam. I do believe that both Trump and Obama did in their foreign policy what they believed was in the best interests of the US. While I don't necessarily agree with 100% of either of their foreign policy decisions I also recognize that those decisions are theirs to make and that if I have a serious disagreement I can vote in opposition to them and their supporters every two years.
 

Obama's sole connection to Islam is the one invented by political opponents. Trump by contrast has had visible and frequent abnormal connections to Russia.

Obama had an expressly pro-Islam foreign policy. For example, he used NASA for outreach to the Muslim world.

The Obama administration was generally pro-Islam. They were anti-terrorist but pro-Islam. Please keep in mind that not every Muslim is a terrorist.
 

Welp, there's your problem right there. twump has decades long associations with the Russian mob, going back to at least the mid 80s, and he supplicates himself to Putin for no discernable reason.

As I offered in a different thread, not only is the entire Ukraine scandal going to be exposed for what it is, Americans are going to stop worrying about why DonDon is Putin's lapdog and just recognize that the reasons why while interesting to some are really not more than salaciously titillating. The fact that Trumpkin is Putin's lapdog is much more the issue and the threat and a serious problem for this country, not the reasons why.
