I think Chris Christie is smoking too much crack to be hatin' on pot...
There is no go-team attitude. It's acknowledging a fact. Republicans support states rights when it suits them, and dismiss it when it doesn't.
As it stands:
- Republicans don't have a states right argument for marijuana because the evangelical right is strongly against drugs. That is a fact.
- They also didn't support gay marriage being a "states right" issue when every single one of them who voted on DOMA voted to pass it.
- They also support passing federal government bans on abortion, ignoring the many states in which there are predominately pro-choice stances.
The biggest proof that Republicans are flaky when it comes to states is the retelling that Southern Republicans have of the Civil War. It's a retelling that paints their new understanding of states rights as an institution that needed to be protected. As opposed to the fact that the institution being protected was slavery. It also purposely ignores that Northern states were exercising their states right to try and influence the federal government. Why? Because it's much easier to get the Southern vote if you ignore the fact that the 'state right' in question was the right to have slavery.
Again, these are all well accepted facts. Acknowledging them is not a 'Go-Team Attitude'. However, your attitude makes you look like you don't have much to counter with.
It's not his fault, gotta be his parents'...what weirdos with the last name of 'Christie' would name their son 'Christopher'? That is the name they came up with through a choice of hundreds/thousands?
Okaaaay.
Jan. 8, 2014: The emails between Kelly and Wildstein are obtained by NBC 4 New York and other media outlets. The messages contradict for the first time publicly Christie's assertion that his administration was not involved. He cancels a public appearance, then hours later issues a statement saying he was "misled" and knew nothing. He says "people will be held responsible for their actions."
March 15, 2015: Federal investigators issue a new subpoena to the Port Authority after wrapping up interviews with members of the Borough Council in Fort Lee, the town where traffic was gridlocked.

I like Chris Christie, but a guy the size of a refrigerator shouldn't be talking about addiction. I'm guessing he only complains about 'big government' if Cola-Cola is what is being restricted.
We need to introduce him to a weed Twinkie. It'd blow his mind, not to mention his stance.
Until we adopts the "shoot on site" policy for drug use it will never, never, never change.

He's going much further than being obliged to enforce the law. He's proving what many have been saying about Republican views on states rights. It's only a thing if they're on the right side of the issue.

In an age where prescription pills are killing people by the handfuls and are accounting for a drastic increase in the number of addicts, I wonder why Christie would waste his time and effort to keep Marijuana illegal. How about he spend that time taking on the big business of pharmaceuticals. You want to help fight drug addiction? That's where you need to start.

Not for nothing...but the Obama justice Department was talking big **** about targeting state marijuana dispensaries not too long ago. Is Christies position all that different than Barracks?
:lamoYup...because when WA and CO had pot legalization on the ballot, he came out and said specifically the feds would not interfere.
And 2 yrs down the line...nada.
:lamo
couldnt be because they were forced to...huh?

Not true. There are federal candidates that simply declare it to be a states rights issues and are done with it. It became an issue with Clinton because he was his typical douchebag self. "I smoked pot but didnt inhale." Stupid. Stupid stupid stupid. NO ONE bought it...so why lie about it? But that wasnt the worst part in my book. He was asked during an interview with a bunch of kids on MTV if he could go back and do it as a kid, would he and rather than respond like an adult he said "If I could sure! heh heh!" Douchebag.I also disagree with Obama's point of view on federal marijuana targeting. It is not just Chris Christie who is out of touch, more US politicians are equally out of tune with reality because they do not want to be called out as being soft on drugs use. Let's not forget that during the Clinton campaign a big issues was made about whether or not he inhaled when he smoked pot? How would a candidate look if he agreed with marijuana sales, he would be labeled a pot head and he/she could all but forget the race because the media focus and insanity makes political or moral molehills into frigging K2 like mountains.
No they werent. They were forced to not prosecute by congress restricting their budget.Isnt that what I said? They were told to do so by the Obama administration.
