Why the muted response from DJT about the latest China trade deal? My thinking is that for all of his bluff and bluster in dealing with China he’s come to the realization that it’s China holding the better hand. He’s acquiesced to Chinese negotiators about allowing their students to study in the U.S.. This in spite of their spying activities and worse still using our labs to test biological warfare agents. Trump has his eyes solely on the rare earth minerals which the Chinese have an abundance of. Is he ready to sell out our national security and various industries just for that and still come out a loser? Something doesn’t smell right with his China trade talks. If it was good he taught it the most important trade deal ever in the history of mankind.😵‍💫

Not to worry, his minions will hail the deal as a MAJOR accomplishment. We may never know exactly what is or isn't in the deal, but I am sure Fox will give us the White House version.
 
Good deal or bad deal. It's all in the numbers. We'll just have to wait and see what they are.
 
Since both Trump and Lutnick have stated that the deal was signed some days ago, you have to assume that it is pretty horrible for the US. Otherwise Trump would have been shouting about it from the rooftops, saying that it is the biggliest trade win the US has ever had yadda, yadda, yadda. Even Lutnick stated that Trump is directly responsible for the deal. Now that could just be Nutlick being a good little maga sycophant, but it could also be him saying that he doesn't want to be held responsible for Trumps disaster?

As for you @gman, you are not going to be on Trumps Christmas card list if you refuse to be distracted by his newest shiny object (Iran bombing) and continue to refer to Trumps failing trade wars.

Well, truth be told, we just don't know what's in the framework yet, but if the reporting is accurate, it looks like the US gives up some of its export controls in exchange for rare earths. I would wager that we were more desperate for rare earths than China was for loosening up export controls. So yeah, Trump folded on this one, it would seem. I have no problem with that, as that's the smart thing to do. But we shouldn't be in this position to begin with.

I agree, but after all of the hype you would’ve thought Trump had them in a headlock giving them a noogy in the corner of the ring. My feeling is that we’ll read about the final trade agreement on the back pages of the Washington Examiner and on 3:00 AM FOX NEWS.

The talks are in progress as evidenced by early agreements, one of which is to continue with trade talks.
