Shit just got real folks. This could shut down economies.
China has pushed back once again to U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff policies by hiking its levies on U.S. imports to more than 80%.
China's Office of the Tariff Commission of the State Council said tariffs on U.S. goods will rise to 84% from 34% starting on April 10, according to a translation of the announcement. This comes after the latest U.S. tariff hike — which brings levies on Chinese goods to more than 100% — took effect at the start of April 9.
Trump doesn't know who he's dealing with. Xi will not back down.Good for them.

I avoid Walmart, haven't been inside one in years, before I got married I went for years without buying anything made in China. It wasn't always easy to find an alternative that wasn't made in China. Wal-Mart's supply chain just got trashed. The feed came with a surprise tariff of $2,200 tacked on. “We have small margins,” he told me. “I had a contracted price on that grain delivered to my barn. It was supposed to be so much per ton. And they added that tariff right on top because it comes from a Canadian feed lot.
All I can say is, between the exchange rate and tarriffs what a boost to cross border shopping ! But, Walmart has decimated local economies and become the “only game in town” in many of them.
Walmart falls and a lot of those red areas will be economically crushed. They don’t have anything else to fall back on.
Walmart is one of the single largest employers in the US. And, those jobs are located in some of our most economically depressed areas.
