China has the 2nd highest PISA scores (after Singapore) in the world.

There are almost 50 million students enrolled in Chinese universities and another million in foreign universities.

I suspect Chinese leaders are laughing their educated asses off as America flails about trying to organize bathroom use and cut tertiary funding.

For an extremely obvious example, look at the Manhattan project.

Edit: But there are a ton more examples that are way less obvious, to the point that we don't even realize why we have the thing we use.

You're right, of course. That tens of millions of American voters aren't concerned - and won't be concerned - about this development is not only startling, it's also troubling to the point of being "scary".
 
This transformation has been underway for some time. This was always going to be China’s century economically, technologically and militarily.

Yeah. While they always complain about America not being the same as it was in the 1950s, what they fail to realize is that in the 1950s, America didn’t have @Eriech and @anatta types around to undermine our higher education system like we do today.
