China considers the Taiwan Strait to be its territory. The HMCS Ville de Quebec and HMAS Brisbane sailed through it to reinforce the position that it's international waters.

Australian and Canadian warships sailing through the sensitive Taiwan Strait have been followed and warned by China’s military, with Beijing describing the incident as a provocation.

The People’s Liberation Army’s Eastern Theatre Command said the Australian guided-missile destroyer Brisbane and the Canadian frigate Ville de Quebec were engaged in “trouble-making and provocation”.

These Freedom of Navigation Operations are routine for the US Navy to include FONOPS participants from the Navies of Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, India, Australia. US led FONOPS are routine in the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea for more than 20 years and will continue indefinitely.

CCP Boiz in Beijing always push button their objection at each FONOP as "provocative" and so on and so on. There's nothing the PLA can do to stop this that keeps the CCP from grabbing everything in sight.

China accusing someone else's Navy passing through the Taiwan Strait as "provocation"?

How does one say "Hypocrite" in Mandarin?

I think the correct phrase in China would be 'losing face' because Canada, the UK, Australia et al are going to keep doing this.
