Chicago newspaper prints a summer reading list. The problem? The books don't exist

Oops. Someone used AI to put together a summer reading list. AI is known for occasional errors (known as hallucinations) and this happened...

Good luck picking up the books on an unofficial summer reading list from the Chicago Sun-Times.

That's because, while the authors may be real, the books don't actually exist. And the Chicago Sun-Times is being roasted online for publishing the AI-generated list. The paper initially couldn't explain how the piece was published.

It was a full page too...

They've busted a few lawyers getting lazy with made up laws and citations.
 
You know what's funny? Companies are trying to use AI to run manufacturing plants. In my industry.

Sometimes I laugh until I can't stop screaming.
