Look at the headlin. 33% of Americans on welfare. It says what it says. Course the real figure is under 5%. But yea, close enough for Fox.
I guess you didn't actually read the link in the OP? It defines "welfare" by including many government assisted programs that weren't identified in the link you posted, which was pretty specific to welfare checks and food stamps.
The OP was intentionally misleading and dishonest. Why are the conservatives defending it?
Census figures show more than one-third of Americans receiving welfare benefits | Fox News
This should be shocking to everyone, no matter which way they lean.
Perhaps others aren't trying to split hairs to find an out to the overall premise presented in the OP.
And VA benefits. And student loans. And the Cato institute calculated a "total welfare package" that is ridiculous. And ignores the fact that the vast majority of households receiving these benefits are working families.
The difference between 5% and 33% is only spliting hairs when Fox is doing the spinning. It is a straight up dishonest headline. Come on, you guys can admit it.
People on welfare are often afraid of losing that welfare and which party is usually more in favor of not decreasing/increasing welfare?
Hmmmmmm....
From a Democrats perspective the more dependency = the better politically for them.
Is that why it's always Republicans trying to inflate welfare statistics?
Always is it? Care to back that up?
My my for a moderate you certainly do stick up for the DNC enough eh? :lamo
About as often as you go for the RNC - for a Libertarian. It makes me laugh when people think moderate means "Republican."
So nothing to say on topic? Just the personal attacks?
The Democratic Slave Plantation is recruiting more recipients by opening the border.
Yeah uh huh. Funny there are more moochers in the reds states than blue and there are more white anglos on welfare than minorities.
And just how do illegals vote? I live in an area that is very Hispanic and have yet to see one at the voting booth.
Have you ever seen a Democrat lump every form of government assistance together and call it "welfare?"
All government assistance.Arent all seniors eligible for medicare? And SS is probably included so that also covers all seniors and disabled and the kids of deceased parents?
