'Celebration of Corruption': Trump's meme coin dinner

Just prior to last night's dinner for a select group of 200 who had bought the right to be there by buying Trump's meme coin, four Democratic Senators held a hurried press conference regarding this event. Senator Chris Murphy was the first to take the microphone. This is his address and warning;

"This is the most corrupt white house in the history of the country. Just because the corruption is playing out in public, where everybody can see it, doesn't mean that it isn't rampant, rapacious corruption. And, what is happening tonight, this private, secret dinner, in which individuals who have put money in Donald Trump's pockets, get access to him, is maybe the most corrupt of all the corruption. Tonight, Donald Trump will have a secret dinner and meetings with the 200 individuals who have spent the most money buying up his meme coin. Trump's meme coin has no value in and of itself. Its only value is based upon how much demand exists for the meme coin. It's not difficult to inflate demand for a product that doesn't have any value when you're the President of the United States, and have command of nearly infinite resources given to you by the taxpayers. He creates demand by essentially opening a channel for bribery. If you buy this coin, the price goes up, and he makes more money. If you buy his coin, you get secret access to the president to be able to plead your case, to ask for preferential treatment. The extra benefit is no one will ever know that you bought the coin or that you got the private access. It provides cover for the most corrupt, for the most compromised, for the worst of the worst, to channel money to Donald Trump in order to get their private audience with him in order to plead their case for favorable treatment from the federal government, or for investment from the US taxpayer."

"The most worrisome aspect of this dinner is the fact that it is likely to be loaded with non-American citizens. It would be bad enough if you could pay as an American citizen to get secret access to the president. But, from what we understand, most of the attendees tonight will be foreigners. These could be individuals with ties to terrorist groups, these could be representatives of Vladimir Putin, these could be sanctioned individuals, they could be Gulf Princes, they could be oligarchs. They were able to pay their way in to get an audience with the President of the United States to ask for favorable national security concessions. The Secretary of State (Marco Rubio) won't be there. He claimed he didn't even know about this meeting the other day."

"We're here today to make sure that people know what's happening amidst all the dizzying news in the world. A lot of people may have missed this celebration of corruption that's happening today at one of Trump's properties. We're here to call on him to do something really simple, release the names of the people that are going to be there. Even if he releases the names, it's still corrupt, but at least let us see who's going to be there. At least let the American people know who has bought access to the president. If there's nothing wrong, if you think this is all above board, then what are you hiding? This shouldn't be happening. The president should be held accountable for this kind of corruption, and our Republican colleagues should join with us to end it. But, at the very least, between now and when that dinner happens, the president could decide to show who has bought access to him, who is trying to convince him, through donations to his business to try to get favorable treatment from the government that is not his, that is ours."

My brother-in-law has always been a supporter of Trump. I talk with him occasionally. He said he will have to give Trump more time because he "likes what he's doing about immigration." I have to add that my brother-in-law is pretty 'well off' financially and to him, the importance of his money comes before his racisms and hatred of immigrants. I predict that if the markets crash, and we go into a recession, that might be a deciding factor for him, but that's only after he's finished blaming democrats for the financial crisis.

With such great wealth, it's difficult for most people to conceptualize it. I remember years ago, people in politics were talking about 'hundreds of thousands', or 'millions of dollars' regarding political corruption. Then Trump was elected, and we started hearing 'billions' and we got used to that, now we're beginning to hear 'trillions' regarding the wealth of the top 1%.

Okay, so let's say this is real, a one-million dollar bill, that's 100,000,000,000,000,000,000 single dollar bills.


For decades, Forbes has assessed Trump's wealth, which they currently estimate at $5.5 billion. Bloomberg estimated his wealth at $7.08 billion in January 2025, although Trump himself claims a much higher net worth. However, after the launch of $Trump, Trump's own cryptocurrency, Axios temporarily estimated his net worth to be $58 billion

Taking Forbes lower estimate of $5.5 billion, it would translate to 5,500 million-dollar bills. Taking Axios assessment of his net worth at $58 billion, that would be 58,000 million-dollar bills. Trump's family wealth has increased by $2.9 billion since his inauguration. That means he accrued 2,900 million-dollar bills gained, during his presidency, in under 4 months.

It's mind-boggling.

There are people in my state that think it is a foregone conclusion that Collins is going to finally lose.
I don't see it. The people so far in the race are nobodies. The last go-round we had a strong candidate
and she still got slaughtered. So unless she loses a primary, Suzie isn't going anywhere.

I am not happy that Trump is doing this. But I feel my opinion does not matter. His poll numbers show that he still has a strong following. Trump once said "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?".

I am starting to believe that this country deserves Trump. A lot of people are convinced of the invincibility of the US. That the world will cave in to Trump because of the his position as POTUS. I think the world is making long term plans for a world not dominated by the US, financially, technically, militarily and culturally. It will take some time to make these adjustments but the process is moving along.

China is filling in the vacuum left by the US. During the Cold War we confronted the USSR by surrounding them will alliances build brick by brick. I see China surrounding the US with alliances build brick by brick. The fill affect will take a few years to complete but the process is moving along.

The attack on Harvard and other US Universities to block foreign students is only delayed by the recent actions of a Federal judge. China and Europe is becoming more attractive for the world best and brightest minds of the future.

Europe is forming a military alliance outside of US influence. I believe in 10 years Europe will be totally independent of the US for diplomatic and military support. The funding issues and internal scrabbles will be resolved.

The future is not in the US any more. We will be a power but not a dominate power. The world is moving on.
