To those who pooh-poohed all the dire predictions about "Project 2025", and Trump's second-term vendetta tour, and the inclination toward fascism among the Republican elites and MAGA world, and Trump pardoning the Jan 6 insurgents, and that Trump would crash the economy: will you admit, now, that those predictions were correct? It's even worse than some of us were willing to go, then. Do I need to cite the dozens of threads that made those predictions?

The maga faithful continue to grab at any economic data straws that pop up, but the reality is that now Trumps tacoing is getting close to over, the full impact of his economic policies is going to finally be felt. Pre-tariff stockpiles are running out, export markets are drying up, and inflation is now knocking at the door hard while jobs are weakening on the back of continual uncertainties in the economy and trade. All direct results of Trumps actions.

You can tell from watching the threads on various economic data that our resident magas are strictly avoiding threads that are showing how much the economy is starting to falter, directly due to Trumps mismanagement. Any thread with even a hint of good economic news however, and they are all over it like a bad rash. They do seem to have mostly stopped quoting many of Trumps now very, VERY obvious lies now though.

Personally, I started predicting inflation and recession should Trump win when I first read Trumps stated policy agenda pre-election. I have repeated those predictions in these forums many times. My early prediction was for the economy to start to falter in 3Q or 4Q 2025. I thought for a time that I may have misjudged the timing, but I think now that I probably got that pretty right. I don't think Christmas will be such a merry time for a lot of Americans this year, and also for a lot of other people around the world whose lives have been damaged by Trumps narcissistic insanity.

What we can next expect to see in these economic threads is a coordinated attempt to blame the Fed, especially Powell, for all the damage that Trump has caused. You can see Trump winding up his blame game to shift attention from his own failures, so expect our maga colleagues here to start walking the same line as the economic news gets worse.

The worst part of project 2025 is the porn ban, and there is no evidence Trump supports or wants such a policy.

Lol the cultists won't care, or they will find all the excuses in the world for why all the evil shit this administration is doing is justified.

I'd say the worst part of Project 2025 would be the removal of a lot of the limited checks and balances minimal to a democracy and the Orwellian censorship laws but go wild

As I've stated before, it was democrats who gave the executive the enormous power it has today. Wilson, FDR, and LBJ all greatly expanded the president's power and democrats of course supported it fully.

And it's MAGA who is blatantly abusing it.

Not to be an asshole, but the most recent president you mentioned had his term in the 60's...
Safe to assume things change a lot in 50 years

What are you referring to?

Oh, I see, give the government sweeping power over every part of our lives, then just cross our fingers and hope only saints get elected to wield it responsibly. Pure genius.

It chugged along fine until 2025. I don't think anyone ever anticipated that US people would elect a liar, grifter, bully, sexual abuser, etc. as President. Twice.

Nope. It was Trump's SCOTUS judges who said the executive branch is immune from any criminal prosecution.

Not to mention the greatest expansions of federal bureaucracy since the 60s have occurred under Republicans. Nixon, Reagan and Bush Jr, and now Trump, have vastly expanded government bureaucracy. Inconvenient facts.
