Carney: White House Learned About VA Scandal From News Reports[W:72]

Hi MMC

The accounting fraud by someone in the VA might explain part of the long wait time but a huge influx of wounded veterans that the VA wasn't prepared for might explain most of it, as well as a lack of doctors. The doctors at the VA in SLC work pro bono and others work as part of an agreement to pay off their college debt and only stay on average about two years. The wait time for an appointment there is one month and so my dad goes in every month to have his meds checked.

Well it can't be denied these wait times have increased under BO.....yet it is BO throwing out all those Platitudes of the afterthought. Considering one of his big concerns and MO's to, was Veterans and the issue of PTSD.

Which many are in need of medications.....which they just can't seem to get filled. Or seen....to know whats going on with themselves.

How on earth would Obama's VA NOT be ready for the influx of vets? He RAN on ending the wars, and he has had 6 years. Wars have ended in the past, and the VA was able to continue functioning. Frankly, the number of military men and women leaving active duty today is small compared to the numbers in prior conflicts.

I'm pretty sure Obama cares about the veterans, but he has to trust that the people who work at the VA do, too. I am a little disappointed that he didn't personally address this issue over a month ago when it first came to light....but I don't think the delay is as nefarious as many would like it to be. He probably learned that from Benghazi not to make a statement until he knew what was really going on. He's damned if does and he's damned if doesn't.

I think it might have something to do with the type of injuries that the vets are getting such head traumas that require long term care. And too, modern medicine can keep more vets alive than in previous wars....and that cost a lot more time and money than in previous wars as well. I just don't think it's as simple as you want to make it out to be.

I have already told you what you did when you came into the thread. We need not repeat it. And answering a question with a question is just diversion on your part. Have a nice day, I see there is no point recognizing you exist.
A diversion on my part is asking you to address the topic of the thread? The same one you were spewing about but not addressing earlier? Couched in the ad homs? You say you are departing now? Oh I wonder wonder wonder why that came to be? To quote the great Takei, oh my. Saynoara.:giggling:

TBI does not explain the delays. People are waiting a year for BASIC services. Obama has had 6 years, even more time than the ACA which he also bumbled.

Well.....his one problem with Benghazi was.....He knew what was going on and even before the Month of Sept. Like here.....he knew this was going on as was shown earlier. But as you stated.....never stayed on top of it. This was pushed to the back burner. Like Jobs were.

If I did I wouldnt have asked. An argument consists of more than just presenting facts.

That.....is true. Also as is facts ending one argument. Only to bring another.

I think you're right about that, however, another huge burden that has been added in just the past few months is that Obama has destroyed the private insurance of many veterans and/or their employers and so their only choice now is to go to the VA or pay a fortune for Obamacare. So they go to the VA.

These are veterans that would have been just as happy working within the private system, but Obama has now forced them into a permanent dependence upon government.

As much as I detest the PPACA law, I must disagree; the loss of jobs has had much more of an affect on "other insurance" as well as the financial means to get other individual "private" care. Throwing much more money at basically the same number of VA care providers is much like getting nine women together and then demanding a baby in one month. VA should be converted to a voucher option system, similar to Medicare, allowing the use of care at many more facilities.

I just don't see your reasoning there. Why would anyone who has just lost their company or private insurance pay $300-$500 a month for an Obamacare exchange endorsed policy with a huge deductible when they can go to the VA for much cheaper care?

If the CIA didn't know who was the behind the Benghazi attack the night that it happened, then why would Obama know?

If nobody knew that a few people were cooking the books at the VA then why would Obama know before they were caught?

Take a look at this list of people who were caught ripping off the VA....

Investigations Press Releases

Somebody must be doing their job for such a long list of convictions. So whoever got caught this time will likely face prison time, too. That list also suggests that it's "we the people" that are ripping off the VA....not the government.

The dead folks had attempted to get care up to a year ago, not only since PPACA (sort of) took effect. The price/quality of VA care is not the issue - it is the wait for it.

Gosh, let's Google "VA + convictions" and say that lots of hits makes this all OK. WTF does that have to do with the VA denying vets the care that they deserve?

From your silly posted link:

USDOJ: US Attorney's Office - Eastern District of Virginia

USDOJ: US Attorney's Office - Southern District of Ohio

It has to do with the conversation I was having with MMC.

Why is that silly, ttwtt?

This is the classic (and awful) dilemma for a WH in trouble. Do they admit to being idiots or liars?eace

The CIA did know.....as did the State Dept and BO. Which not only our news sources validate that but so to our own Governments Depts and or Agencies.....but so to overseas news sources.

Why.....because it has been Team BO and the Democrats that have brought the majority of Regulations over Vets. In all areas. Including TOP ranking Officers for Misconduct.

I know of several and the one that got busted in Florida who even received charitable trips across the country. Taking the place of True Vets who deserved the Honors and Respect.

Because it has absolutely nothing to do with VA medical care. It is a contract/wire fraud conviction involving a "service-disabled veteran-owned small business". Try to keep on topic.

Moderator's Warning:
Cut out the personal sniping, and debate the OP.

Fact is Obama knew about problems in 2007, on the campaign trail. Aren't you more disappointed he didn't DO something about it once he was elected? Addressing the issue is just more lip service like we got yesterday, with no urgency, no action, and more faux outrage. The facts show he doesn't care about veterans all the much actually.

Reality is they may be both.
