What Donald will never understand is this: while aggressive bullying may work to keep adversaries in check it's soft power that influences allies.

Very true

Japan and Korea are vital partners to the US regarding military power snd overall influence in the eastern pacific.

Trade is one way to keep such countries interests tied to the US. Slapping tariffs and restricting trade will cause them to be more independent and follow their interests own self interests more than in the past

Trade is one of the best avenues to secure relationships with foreign countries so you do not escalate to shooting wars.

Someone failed to tell Dear Leader this.

Right now not many are pro-USA. That's what happens when we elect a demented criminal clown.
 
He pretty much said the obvious. It's like boyfriend-girlfriend, if one side isn't getting their needs meet, its time to break up and/or work on repairing the relationship.
