One, it tells me that you don't know history and that Terrorists have had a far easier means than the Rio Grande from which to infiltrate so far.
And you forget about the LAX bomber who was arrested coming in from Canada.
They, the GOP never read Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals."
It worked for Obama. The GOP needs to lie and keep lying until the majority starts believing the lies.
Welcome to reality. Its like the gun control argument, when saying "if criminals want guns they will get them no matter what". Hear the right wing use it all the time.Very defeatist. Do you have locks on your doors?
Maybe so, get back with me in thirty years and tell me how it works out.
Well there is no evidence: Pentagon: No evidence of ISIS at border | TheHillSomehow he knows. Im sure our govt would tell us right away if it did happen. :doh
You sound pretty confident shrub that you will out live me.
A recent leaked Border Patrol document Darby CBP Leak Numbers Globe shows that tens of thousands of foreigners are caught sneaking into the US each year. For every one caught, certainly more get through-and NOT just from latin America. At the same time, Obama encourages a massive influx of illegals with very little or no documentation. On top of this we have unsavory characters from Mexico's drug cartels, and human smugglers coming through because they know they CAN.
And yet our border remains porous-with some claiming a secure border is racist, intolerant, a waste of time , etc. Drugs, and people can get through-and terrorists will exploit that as much as human smugglers and drug traffickers, I believe. We know terrorists HAVE gotten through-and its one reason why Homeland Security is on edge right now, expecting more attacks.
Can the US be safe from terrorist incursion with our current open border?
The Avenue Gang, I know who they are. Their turf is around Highland Park and this is the Latino gang that drives around looking for black Americans and shoot them on sight. Doesn't matter if it's a 10 year old black girl or a 80 year old black man. If you have black skin, you are targeted.
It was the SPLC who refused to label the Avenue Gang as a hate group because the SPLC said they weren't political. After more than a decade of defending the Avenue Gang the SPLC finally did label the Avenue Gang as a hate group, but they cringed when they did. There are six other Latino gangs in the L.A. metro area who also target blacks.
My point is; it wasn't the place of entry for other terrorist acts. Terrorists can arrive through any entry point in our country; as we have seen, and picking on the Mexican border says nothing other than fear that border. The right has been trying to get everyboduy all whipped up about teh Mexican border whl at the very asme time doing nothing to eliminte the reasons that illegals come accross. Therefore, based on the evidence, it is notong but fear mongering put out inorder to fufill an agenda.
I do not mean to challenge my friend, but raise some questions.
First, "open border" kind of says there is only one, and the map doesn't even acknowledge the Canadian border, which with Alaska is about six times as long as Mexico.
Two, the only terrorist ever known to try to make in from a neighboring country was the LAX bomber who was arrested by a border guard while leaving a ferry that had just come in from Victoria BC.
I suspect the difference is that Canadians do not have an overwhelming desire to live there and, unlike Mexicans have not been invited.
But I find it strange that immediately after 911 there was a hue and cry in the States as to the fact they had come from Canada and there were others....but now we are forgotten.
Canadians deeply resent any minority not being included and as one I demand we be put on the list of suspicion along with those pampered Mexicans

Also why are American terrorists excluded from this question?
Never happen.
I think there's a better question, Paschendale.Because every terrorist (modern Islamic terrorists, which are the ones we're talking about) whose travel into this country has been released to the public hasn't come that way. Most illegal immigrants don't come that way either. They both mainly get here on commercial airlines. They don't hijack them. They just buy tickets.
Nobody has ever broken into my home or stolen my car. Therefore I should not lock the doors.
If you have, I don't think it needs explaining. If not -How are you so sure that does not "actually happen"?
Flooding the nation with socialist-friendly masses to strain our system, while encouraging a portal of entry for terrorists seems like 2 birds with one stone, eh?
Our intelligence is notoriously late to the game. The door is still wide open.
Awhhh gone straight conspiratard mode I see.
Ahhh you see you are the one saying something and yet there is no proof of this. Pretty much your argument is focused around a giant "coulda"
Its not hard to think of examples of our intelligence dropping the ball. Or is this more "conspiracy" to you?
Do you have locks on your homes doors? People can get in other ways, so why bother? :doh
So again you have no evidence. Still just a giant "coulda".
(chuckle)
The "I can't refute but I have to be right" throw away line.
Crossing over from Mexico is likely very low on the list of methods that Islamic terrorists would use to enter this country. Of course, the majority of terrorist actions in this country are committed by American citizens, making the idea of linking immigration from Mexico and South America to terrorism even more pointless. As in the graphic, drugs certainly come in that way, but we like drugs in this country. Terrorists don't come in that way. Amusingly, they're often not too fond of the drugs.
TeleKat said:If a terrorist wants to get in here it's not going to matter whether or not we have a fence up.
